"We had a nice one-night stay at Hotel Universel in Montreal. The location is great, with close proximity to several museums and attractions, which made it really convenient for a short trip. Walkable distance to the planetarium and biodome, which we visited. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated.
The hotel itself does feel a bit dated, and that shows in both the building and the rooms. While our room seemed clean enough, it definitely gave off an older vibe. The free parking was a nice perk, but the lot could use better maintenance.
On the positive side, the swimming pool was a highlight—clean, warm, and enjoyable. One downside was the noise level; we could hear people outside the room quite clearly, even late at night despite posted quiet hours.
Overall, a decent stay for a short visit—comfortable enough with some good amenities, but the property could benefit from some updates."
"I really liked our suite. It was large and spacious. The kids had their own space, we had an ample amount of living space and dining areas. The small kitchen was great for reheating things and keeping items cold the in fridge/freezer. The room was a little dated but VERY clean. I mean not a hair or trace of anyone who stayed before us. In a hotel this is HUGE. The free breakfast was actually quite tasty. I liked that they had pate, meat and cheese, and good butter. The bagels were very good too. The location is walkable to a lot and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy with valet but we had a tall vehicle so we parked on the street or off site in a lot. As long as you know the times for street cleaning, etc - this wasn't an issue. I'd definitely stay again."
