"I enjoy my stay with Bay Breeze Inn, staff is friendly and helpful. Great location, close to everything. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Definitely will book Bay Breeze again if given the chance."

Lighthouse Lodge And Cottages

"The initial draw to this place was the price which had us thinking it was too good to be true. A decent price, a good looking room and the mention of free breakfast…no way. The only thing that needed to be changed was our room because of a slight noise disturbance(a tree hitting the rooftop) but the staff was accommodating and had us in a new cottage within minutes. Both rooms were very clean, roomy and had everything we needed. Location wise, this is a great spot within walking distance to the beach and less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Monterey! As if all of that is not enough already, their breakfast is impressive. There are two very friendly staff members working the breakfast dining room and knocking it out of the park! They have a buffet with eggs and potatoes and a rotating daily special, along with cold and hot cereals, coffee, bagels, fruit, toast, oatmilk and gluten free options. If you’re staying in the cottages, this meal is free of charge. You cannot beat it, highly recommend this spot!"

Sand Castle Inn

"There’s a lot to like about the Sand Castle Inn. The staff at both check-in and check-out were friendly and helpful, and the location is ideal—close to Monterey but far enough away to avoid the crowds and tourist congestion. The room looked exactly as pictured and was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and quality linens. I especially appreciated the small details: a quiet mini fridge (rare!), no overpowering carpet or chemical odors, strong A/C, and reliably hot water. Traveling with a dog can be hit or miss, but they accommodated us with a quiet second-floor room toward the end of the building, which made a big difference. Parking was easy, and having an excellent Italian restaurant next door was a bonus. A few minor drawbacks: there’s a food truck behind the building near the Legion of Honor that created a noticeable fish smell outside (though it never made its way into the room), the plantation blinds—while nicer than curtains—let in a bit of light, and there isn’t much greenery nearby for dog walking. Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, and well-run property with great hospitality. It’s affordable, conveniently located near Highway 1 and local attractions, and offers excellent value for the price. It’s hard to beat what you get here at this price point."

Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove Monterey by IHG

"As a new property, there’s no need to deal with aging infrastructure. The noise from the outside world is effectively muted. The noise from the crying baby next door, a little less so. The property is pet friendly. As a dog love this makes me happy. If you are allergic or want to avoid dog hair on your clothes, just be aware. There was a power outage when we arrived at check in time. We were delayed getting into our rooms and the staff were largely busy scrambling to manage without their computer systems etc. we were not offered any light compensation as a result of the delays getting settled in so perhaps that can be added to the Kimpton hospitality playbook. Despite the added stress, the staff were friendly and as accommodating as they could be. The location is convenient to everything and having the valet service added to the compulsory resort fees means you have easy access to Monterey and Carmel as well."
