"My stay at Riu Montego Bay was fun overall. The resort was clean, the staff was absolutely amazing, and I had a great time. The one thing I felt was missing was a stronger Jamaican experience. Many people travel to Jamaica to enjoy the local culture, and I think the resort could do more to showcase it. For example, I would have loved to hear more reggae and Jamaican music throughout the resort. Even at the White Party, most of the music played was American. I also would have liked to see more authentic Jamaican food options. At breakfast, I was hoping for traditional items such as fried dumplings and ackee and saltfish, but the menu mostly featured foods I can easily get at home, such as eggs, bacon, and French toast. I understand that Riu is an international resort that caters to guests from all over the world, but at times it felt a little too Americanized. During my trip, I found myself leaving the resort every day to experience more of the local Jamaican culture, food, and atmosphere. That said, I still enjoyed my stay and appreciate the hard-working staff who helped make the trip enjoyable. With a few more authentic Jamaican touches, I think the experience would be even better."

"I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The property was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. The view was absolutely stunning and made the experience even more memorable. A special thank you to Devon, our butler, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His exceptional service truly elevated our experience. The drinks were also fantastic, with great quality and variety. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway."

"Here’s a polished review you can post: We recently stayed at the Riu Palace Jamaica in Montego Bay. Overall, our stay was nice, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating. One thing that was disappointing was that when we booked, it was advertised that we would have access to the two neighboring Riu properties. However, upon arrival, we learned that there were limitations on what areas and amenities we could actually use. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and was a bit frustrating. To be honest, after seeing the neighboring Riu Montego Bay property, we wish we had booked there instead. While we were not able to see every room, the property itself appeared more updated, cleaner, and closer to the overall atmosphere and aesthetic we were looking for. The food was another area where we felt improvements could be made. If you eat at the main dining hall, expect to see many of the same options day after day. There wasn’t a lot of variety, which became repetitive during our stay. That said, we still enjoyed ourselves and made the best of our trip. The beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff helped make our vacation enjoyable despite some of the drawbacks."

"I honestly do not understand the hype behind this place. For the amount you pay here — easily $100–150 per person depending on drinks and appetizers — the experience was shockingly bad from start to finish. I’ve genuinely received better customer service from Chick-fil-A and even McDonald’s. The service was one of the worst parts. Our salad came out completely dry with no dressing, and after trying multiple times to get someone’s attention, the staff either ignored us or acted annoyed that we were asking for basic things. It felt like once they dropped the food off, we no longer existed. Water glasses stayed empty, dirty plates sat on the table forever, and nobody checked on us. For a restaurant charging premium prices, you expect professionalism, attention to detail, and at least decent hospitality. Instead, the staff seemed disorganized, uninterested, and completely disconnected from the dining experience. The food itself was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price point. I don’t mind paying for expensive meals when the quality and service match the cost, but this felt like paying luxury prices for fast-food level service — except somehow slower and less attentive. Extremely disappointing experience overall, and unfortunately not somewhere I would recommend or return to."
