Great location, but the lobby and rooms were filthy. There were pubic hairs on the wall in the shower and my son and I were covered in bug bites. Worst part is that I paid for 3 nights, but only stayed for 1 night and the hotel refused to refund my money. I’m now in a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back.
HORRIBLE experience. Stay far away from this place.

Estamos en remodelación, pero en algunas áreas aun falta.
I like the city my wife likes puerto progresso for the beach so we have both beach and city .been come here since 2014 off and on and always come back to hotel Ambassador for its the best hotel in town. J&M

The place is old…the restrooms were full of mold. They didn’t have a safe in the room or a hair dryer. We also found bed bugs on one of our beds. And when we switched hotels, they refused to give us a refund despite the disgusting room. I don’t recommend staying at this hotel.
We have stayed there before and the room was fine, this time the shower did not have any pressure for hot water.
I didn't appreciate the manager attitude when i reported.
Check the shower before you settle down.
air condition leaking water inside the closet resulted in wet luggage and clothes , under stuffed takes to long to check in . they dindt change the sheets in between reservations found body hair in both beds .

El hotel se mira muy bien por fuera, pero en las habitaciones les falta mucha limpieza el baño ni se diga pesimo.👎👎
I enjoyed my stay at the Ambassador Merida, I just wish the internet would have worked on the 5th floor. I would have extended my stay but because of it I decided to move to another hotel.
But if you don't need the internet then this is a great place to stay.
we love it so much that we are returning in january.

The price is good here. Prices on Orbitz or other booking sites generally better than booking direct. The hotel is walkable from sites in the Centro Historico. Noise is not that bad here. The higher the better. It has a nice breeze in the corridors which are open air on the inside. The included breakfast is minimal but others seemed to be ordering some extras. Rooms are clean. A/c and internet worked fine. You need to go to front desk every day to get a continental breakfast coupon. This is really stupid! You just want to get coffee and here theres sometimes only 1 person checking out several people and all you want is this coupon!!!! They need to fix that! Other hotels give you coupons for your entire stay at check in.. Price is a very good value though and you dont want to be any farther than this from the central plaza.You will be walking into the center at least twice a day so dont take a hotel far out.

We will check the issue, since the price charged is always the amount that appears in your reservation. You must be aware that taxes apply. What you pay is absolutely the amount in the reservation unless you ask for something different. Cancellation fees may apply if you ask for a last minute cancellation.
Hotel was very nice. Everything worked fine, staff was very efficient.
Note: Breakfast was shockingly bad. Besides the junk they give you for free, which is inedible, I ordered a fruit salad and it was tasteless and clearly not fresh. Paid the waiter and he glared at me when I didn't tip - I generally do, but not for rubbish.
