"We loved staying in Charlie’s property. It was very clean and well maintained and was a gem. Parking was tricky round the back but plenty of on street parking was available. A few trips down the hill into town certainly built the glutes on the return up the hill! Highly recommend Stones restaurant and Sourdough Dave’s bakery for bread in the morning. Matlock is a lovely town and well positioned for walking (Dovedale, Edale, etc all within 30mins) or visiting Bakewell or Chatsworth House.Perfect...

"The property was great, very spacious with plenty of room for our extended family, 7 people total. Everything was well taken care of. The kitchen was very well stocked, and communication was great. Location was terrific, with lots of great shops and restaurants. One thing to be aware of is that there are several flights of stairs to get to the flat. That was a bit of a surprise, but we were able to manage it."

"Cottage was clean and well presented with lots of extra touches. Netflix was a bonus! Unfortunately the management company let down the whole experience. Security deposit required prior to releasing check in information, and we emailed them when we found a mouse in the property but they failed to respond. Also the cleaner was waiting for us to leave which wasn’t great! Parking is limited but luckily we found a space on arrival. Dog friendly but be aware no enclosed yard and dogs are not...

"Derwent House is a beautiful period building across a quiet lane from a park in the centre of Matlock. Great location for walking to restaurants and bars. Easy access to drive to local attractions. Comfortable beds, most rooms ensuite. Lots of space for sitting together in the kitchen or dining room and comfortable front room. Only downside is this house has LOW DOORS! We had at least 3 bumped heads as all doors and stairs have low head space!! Also the drain blocked whilst we were there...

"We loved this super little cottage, the putting green outside was a pleasant surprise, all finished to a super standard. Nice to have supplied tea / coffee, milk and butter - would be nice to have had a nice local fresh loaf to go with the butter... just a thought! Also would be nice to include some board games, pack of cards for evening entertainment. Overall Lynda was so welcoming and we will be back as we have found a nice haven in the Peaks."

"This really is a nice place and the host is absolutely super. It is quiet, clean with even things you would expect only in some hotel (coffee pods, teas, milk, and even spare toothbrush for instance). There is indeed no Kitchen, but with what you can find around, this is really not an issue. We really have had a good time and would recommend this place. Parking is a bit annoying, but over the weekend, it is free to park in the street, so was not an issue after all. +++"

"The room was spacious and clean, the big bed was very comfortable, we paid for breakfast separately but found it very reasonable and a very good selection. The food was quality produce. But my highest praise goes to the courtesy and service level provided by the staff. We had issues on our journey to the hotel and they could not of been more helpful and considerate. We will definitely be looking to stay here again. "
