"Almost everything was excellent ( staff, breakfast, location, shuttle service) but our room needs some love considering that the ceiling has been damaged by a water infiltration."

"Great locarion to explore Stassi, helpful staff, ability to have breakfast in room (not in the main dining area) is a plus. Cave room was great, if you're tall, watch your head. Room was spacious, the bed wooden frame was creaky, with small movements. The worst part was the bottle and garbage collection at 5:30-6 am, every day. Right outside our room, very loud. And unexpected."

"The property itself is in a wonderful, peaceful location. The junior suite was huge and appropriately appointed with period furniture. However, a plumbing issue resulted in our shower/bath not emptying. This wasn’t a major issue as we were only staying overnight but temperatures were close to 40C. The night manager appeared more concerned about the impact on the next booking rather than our comfort & we had no alternative but to leave in the morning without showering…."

"It’s a nice unique property. Staff is very helpful. The room was lovely but lots and lots of steps to get to. They did have a kind porter to help bring the luggage to the room and then all the way down to the square where the taxi was waiting to take us to our parking area. The breakfast was wonderful lots of choices. While the view of the hills is nice the location takes some time to walk to town including many many steps so be prepared."

"A perfect hotel consisting of cave dwellings beautifully restored 2 years ago. Everything about the experience of staying there was magical. The rooms, the breakfast, the staff, the underground pool, all exceeded our expectations. Definitely worth staying for more than 1 night. Thank you all!"

"Great property in an outstanding location near an entrance to the Matera Sassi. Clean rooms and comfortable beds were nice to stay in. In addition to the Sassi access and hotel cleanliness, the breakfast was truly outstanding. It featured a variety of coffees, pastries and fruits along with other breakfast items in an attractive, large dining room. The desk is attended at all times and the building is secured at night. My only mild criticism is better information on parking prior to check in would be a plus. A secured garage is under the hotel and available for $20 Euro per might. I'd stay there again, both for the hotel and the ancient attractions of Matera."
