When is the best time for a budget trip to Madrid?
Weather is probably a major factor when you plan your trip to Madrid, but bear in mind that cheaper options are usually available when the weather isn't as good. The hottest months are usually September and August, with an average temperature of 15°C, while the coldest months are December and January, with an average of 15°C. The rainiest months in Madrid are November, March, April and October, with each month seeing an average of 309 mm of rainfall.
What is there to see and do in Madrid?
You don't need to spend big to get to know Madrid. You can budget for the local attractions that interest you most, and then fill your itinerary with sights that are easy on the wallet. If you're eager to get outdoors, you can enjoy the natural setting at Bogotá Botanical Garden, Simon Bolivar Park or Virrey Park.
How can I get to Madrid and get around on a budget?
Looking at these ways to get around Madrid is a smart way to keep your trip affordable. The most convenient airport is Bogotá (BOG-El Dorado Intl.), situated 8.7 mi (14 km) away. Madrid might not have very many public transport choices so a rental car could be a reasonable alternative to explore more of the area.
