Disliked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
I never leave reviews because most places do what they're supposed to. But I felt compelled to warn future travelers so I can sleep at night.We were a group of 12, but this listing could only comfortably sleep about 7. The loft is accessed by an unsecured wooden ladder and sits on a platform with no railings. Upstairs, the mattress is on the floor with almost no headroom (you can't even sit up unless you're under 6 feet tall). The bed frame below the loft had a collapsed center support (we all thought it was likely someone fell on it) (I attached a photo of it; the angle is weird cause we moved it to the living room and leaned it up on a wall, as everyone felt it was better to sleep with the mattress on the ground instead on a broken frame). The downstairs room itself was fine, but the staircase is extremely steep and awkward. As shown in the photos, you essentially have to descend with your right foot first because the steps are so narrow. Smaller things that still sucked. The hot water also ran out after about an hour, and the water heater appears to be sized for only 3–5 people. The door handle had fallen off, so it was just an exposed screw. The owners were unresponsive until I translated our messages into Spanish, and even then they never addressed the issues. VRBO agreed it was unsafe and offered to relocate us, but moving a group of 12 in the middle of a trip wasn't realistic. We ultimately received no resolution and had to tank it.
