"I’d give my stay at Gilmore One about a 4/10. The place was very clean, which is really the main thing carrying that score. That said, the room itself was pretty small and nothing special. I also think they could do a much better job setting expectations, it’s more of a shared house setup where you’re renting a room and sharing common areas, not a typical hotel experience. There was a constant flow of people coming and going at all hours, which didn’t make it feel very private. The room didn’t feel particularly secure with just a coded doorknob, and parking was a headache. The neighborhood also felt a little sketchy at times. The bathroom setup was honestly the worst part. The light was on a timer and you literally could not use the bathroom with the lights off. It would shut off and then blast back on with a loud fan every 15 seconds no matter what you did. Even if you turned it off, it would just turn itself back on. Using the bathroom in the middle of the night felt like a nightmare, getting hit with a bright light and loud fan over and over again with no way around it. It was easily the most frustrating part of the stay. The shower situation wasn’t great either, the water pressure was weak and it took about 10 minutes to heat up. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, everything was very clean, and it was nice that they had a washer and dryer available, even though I didn’t end up using it. Overall, its not somewhere Ill stay again."

"This was my 2nd time to stay at this hotel. On both occasions I stayed for 6 nights. The rooms I had were lovely - large, clean and comfortable. Most staff I encountered were extremely friendly and efficient. I appreciated being greeted when returning each evening. I intended to give a 5 star review but I changed my mind after my interaction with the receptionist on the last morning. I had gone out for a walk and got delayed when taking a phone call. When I returned I requested an additional 15 mins (this was at 10.40pm) to shower and leave the room. The receptionist was on call, clearly with another staff member and I had to wait 4-5 minutes to talk to her. She said she could only give me 5 minutes extra in the room. The cleaning supervisor knocked my door at 11.03am. I ended up in reception with wet hair, putting on my jewellery and fixing my last few items. It was extremely disappointing that I couldn’t be given this small amount of time. I had had no housekeeping for the 6 days as I am a tidy person and there were sufficient towels and supplies in the room. Therefore I think I am quite a low maintenance guest. The receptionist did credit me the $4 I owed for a croissant when I raised my frustration but this didn’t placate me. I lived in Studio City for many years and will return regularly to visit friends - however I am not sure now I will stay here again. "
