The staff here were so lovely that I almost don’t want to comment on the property- the room was filthy, there actually wasn’t someone on the desk the whole time, the photos on here are not of the inside of the property, there’s no hot water… but the bed was clean, it was actually really quiet and the staff I did see were really helpful… would have been brilliant for one night, was ok for two nights- really would have been impossible beyond that

Ideally placed for supporting family in Great Ormond Street Hospital, also very close to the British Museum. Lots of shops and places for food near by.

The staff working at the desk were very nice, and the central location is perfect. But the hotel was in a state of disrepair. There was a problem with the toilet, where it made a very loud noise for about 10 mins after being flushed. The shower appeared to be broken and there was a piece of cardboard hammered into the wall (assumedly to cover a hole).

Location is brilliant, very central. Place is the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in, flies as soon as you enter the building. Our bathroom was very mouldy. That being said, you get what you pay for and the staff were really friendly.

Great hotel

The staff at the hotel were friendly. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and had a wonderful view from the window. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a overnight stay in London.

Probably the dingiest, grottiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room was like a scene from Orwell’s 1984, including what appeared to be a dried blood stain (or was it faeces?) on the ancient, filthy curtains. The shared bathroom was grimy, with dried excrement stuck to the toilet bowl. The cheap handwash in the room was obviously diluted! While staff were friendly and polite, and the linen and towels at least appeared clean, that is really the least I would expect from any hotel. It hardly makes up for the otherwise almost comically disgusting accommodation. Frankly, I feel ripped off - I want my money back!

Ok

Stayed 2 nights. Rooms are ok, but mould in bathroom. The matress is too soft. Its not a place you go to spend time in the room only sleep. Location is good. Would find another place next time.

Staying at the Thanet Hotel Annex was quite a disappointing and unsettling experience, especially since I was traveling with my family. To be clear, this has nothing to do with the staff — communication was good, and when I requested an extra pillow, the front desk agent responded promptly and kindly. However, the condition of the room was far below expectations. The beds were uncomfortable, the shower was extremely small, and I was genuinely concerned about possible mold in the bathroom. It’s definitely not the standard I’m used to. My stay there is one I’d rather forget. Honestly, I wasn’t planning to write a review, but I felt it was important to share this in case someone else reads it before booking — because if I had, I wouldn’t have proceeded. The only positive aspect was the location — its convenience and proximity to the university were the main reasons I chose it. Still, that experience of putting my family, especially my son, through such conditions is something I pray never happens again, by the grace of God.

Not in great condition. Mould in the bathroom, no light bulb in a lamp, the cupboards bolted down, and a very springy bed. But sticky and some ants. Great location so able to get out to London attractions quickly which was main reason for purchase. For a cheaper stay than other accommodation close by, but wouldn't book this for a luxury getaway that's for sure.

As a basic place to lay one's head (especially coming in from Soho in the early hours), it's adequate, well-placed and excellent value for the location. The bed was comfortable, and staff friendly and helpful. The facilities are basic and non-suite, and the shower and toilet in the corridor a bit pokey. The basin in my room had a very low-pressure water supply, but just about adequate to clean the teeth. I'd certainly use it as a base again, though at my age (and especially after a night of jazz and caipirinhas), I maybe should pay a bit more for en suite next time!

The staff were friendly and it is a 15 minute walk to town the west end which is great. Should be advertised as a hostel - basic, not as clean as could be but fine for a place to put your head down for the nigh.
