This the second time I’ve stayed at The Ibis in Canning Town, London. It’s the perfect place to stay when going to see a concert/show at O2 (only one tube stop away to North Greenwich, plus The Ibis is directly opposite the Canning Town tube station - just over the road!).
The actual hotel itself is fantastic! It’s all open-plan when enter, and so light and airy. All staff are really helpful, and there is always at one or two people on the front desk. We also loved the fact that the small cafe/bar is open til 1am daily, so you can get a drink when you come back from a night out, and then relax on the sofas. Similarly you can chill out down there with a tea or coffee, and get a snack if you want one, and have dinner in the dining area in the evening, should you wish. The whole building, and all the rooms, have a very modern design, and are of good size. I am a massive fan of the fact that all the rooms have air conditioning - extremely useful in the hot London summers. The double beds are a decent size, and are comfortable enough (though personally I prefer a softer mattress). The bathrooms/wet rooms are an adequate size with a nice roomy power-shower inside. Very importantly there are multiple power sockets in the room too. I will definitely be staying here again as I really do rate this particular hotel, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting stay in this area. It’s a very reasonable price for London too - brilliant value for money!
