Room was clean and warm, staff very helpful and accommodating. Toilet on different floor to room (a few stairs away), shower on our level was clean. Great location.
Hostel made me feel like home. I arrived at night and the guy in reception was really friendly regardleas the time I arrived (2:30am) he was welcoming and cool, from London so gave the right spots to go. The place is clean, I had a chat with Flynn while having breakfast. The location is well connected to several tube lines. A good experience overall. 10/10

Had to pay an extra £90 for 2 night stay as extra fee since booked through Hotels.com. Hostel itself was fine, staff were great. Understand disclaimer that hotel may assess other fees. But didn’t expect 30-40% more.
A very short 8 hour stay. 8 bed dorm was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
I didnt get to try the leisure facilities due to lack of time.
I will be back
The hostel was great. The reception lady and the manager were fantastic on check in. Very warm & welcoming. We had a 2-bed room a short stroll down the road. Room was clean, sheets were clean. Can't fault it for the price. A simple breakfast, but a perfect way to start the day. Good location to underground an small shop around the corner among other local attractions. I would use again if i were down in the capital!
The accommodation was in a very convenient location and budget friendlh. The hostel had all the basic services and amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful too
The hostel is right next to the British Museum, and close to many of the popular tourist sites. The staff is really helpful and friendly. I’ll definitely stay there again when I visit London in the future.
The staff were kind, the room was clean, and the bathroom was the cleanest, so I really liked it. And the best part of all is that it's close to the British Museum, so I loved it because it's a hostel in a good location!! If I visit London again, I will stay again.
Thanks to you guys, I made good memories in this hostel!
I had excellent service and care from the staff when I became a little unwell. Thank-you, everyone!! I had a girls only dorm it was spotless and the bedding was spotlessly clean and fresh. I liked the centrality of this place.
Amazing staff. Everyone does their job well: receptionists were helpful and friendly, sheets and toilets were probably the cleanest I've ever seen in hostels. Super satisfied with my stay. Thank you guys!
Overall I liked this Hostel a lot and would definitely come back. Look, at the end of the day the things inconvenient about this property are the things inconvenient about every hostel. If you can’t handle no AC, no lift, and roommates that snore or are loud in the hallways all the way to quiet hours, then no hostel will work for you. Bring ear plugs and a sleep mask, and be ready climb some stairs. Beds are comfortable enough, showers are comparatively large for a hostel. My only complaint was my trundle locker was very squeaky which made it difficult to be respectful of my roommates sleep.
Good location and price, very helpful staff. However the room was unbearably hot, only 1 functioning toilet in the entire building, my plug socket didn’t work

Well situated in a cute neighborhood. However they couldn't accomodate with an early check-in (2pm instead of 3pm..). Plus whenI got there they told me the bed I had reserved was in another building. No bathroom on my floor. 2 tiny bathrooms for the whole building, 3 showers. It was ok for the price. People at the reception were nice though.
Located very centrally, close to so many of the major landmarks. Has GREAT kitchen, spacious and well-stocked so you have everything you need to cook proper meals. It's very social—it really encourages people to chat with each other, which not every hostel does, and has fun events, so it's great for a solo traveller.
GREAT staff, all are so friendly, the most friendly set of staff in a London hostel which again makes it so easy to be social! Thank you everyone; Tristan, Alex, Ben, Aitor etc etc who all made my stay a joy :)
The hostel is clean, bathroom amenities are clean and rather spacious, and rooms are spacious, light and with high ceilings, which is great. Just great overall!
I recommend to book rooms in the main hostel and not the 'annexe', to make it more convenient. :)

The museum location has 2 separate buildings. The 1st being the main building that has all the amenities and check in, and the 2nd being a kind of overflow building for longer stays and more inexpensive rooms. I stayed in the 2nd on the ground floor as my stay was for a week. The second building has your rooms, showers and toilets. If you want to experience the hostel’s amenities try and book a bed in the main building. The room I was in didn't have A/C, or a screen on the window so if you wanted some cooler air or airflow in general you'll need to turn on the large noisy fan and crack open the window. 1 night of my stays one of my roommates put his belongings on a table near the window and at some point in the night, someone reached in and stole them. So maybe keep your items in your bags locked overnight, or if you see your window doesn’t have a screen just don’t put items near the window.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Good:
- The room was a good size with simple furnishing, true to pictures
- Showers are a good size but see below.
- There is a phone which directly connects to the main building reception.
Bad
- The rooms and the stairs are not soundproof at all. Noise resonates a lot.
- The doors are all heavy but the closing mechanism is very hard, and thus when they close they always bang loudly. The main house seemed to have dampened mechanisms.
- You wouldn't expect to need a notice to remind guests, yet other guests feel it is acceptable to make a lot of noise after 11pm, ignoring that other guests might be trying to sleep.
- Room 1 is right next to the external door, which is where we were, so the lack of soundproofing, selfish guests, poor door mechanisms, and noisy stairs, meant we got very little sleep.
- We complained at 1:30am and there was some respite, but the noise continued through the night.
- There is no internal door lock - it has been removed.
- Despite room amenities listing a shower/toilet, it is in fact shared. There were 3 showers and 2 toilets on our floor and the one below.
The problem with older buildings is you have to make the effort for them to be hospitable for sleeping. Astor hasn't, and thus the experience is terrible. Sorry.
