"We stayed for a week during the kids’ spring break. Our group had 3 adults, 1 pre-teen and 1 teenager. It was still a bit chilly, so we didn’t get to swim, but we spent plenty of time fishing and relaxing, which made for a great trip.The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook for the week—plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. There was also ample counter space for meal prep, which isn’t always the case in other properties we’ve stayed in. The open floor plan was a huge plus, allowing me to stay connected with the family while cooking.The primary bedroom was spacious and featured a beautiful lake view, along with a connected bathroom. Linens were provided for the beds, and the bathroom was a great size. The other two bedrooms were also comfortable and easily accommodated our kids and my brother-in-law.Our family especially enjoyed the large game room—it could definitely accommodate more people than we had in our group.Reliable Wi-Fi is essential for us since we often work remotely during our stays. We had no issues running two computers, five phones, and two traveling Xboxes We didn’t test to see if the Wi-Fi worked in the game room, but that might be something we check next time so the Xboxes can move out there.We also did a flight with Sand Dollar Seaplanes, and it was fantastic if you want something unique to do while in Lake Gaston. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and are already planning to rebook for next year."

"The cottage was very, very clean. The kitchen was well supplied. The extra amenities were helpful, I.e. coffee, tea, spices, cooking oil. The property is very peaceful. Close to local supermarket. Outdoor space is enjoyable, from screened in porch to sitting on the dock. Be mindful that time of year is high pollen counts. The screened in porch needed a good pollen sweeping on day 1. Daily “dusting” in the outdoor area is recommended. Didn’t use the upper deck off the second floor bedroom as there was too much pollen and debris. I can see it put to good use for sitting and enjoying the lake view when cleaned up. Beds are comfortable. Would come back again and also recommend the cottage to others. "

"The house and grounds are amazing. All of the furniture is comfy. The boats and fire pit really added to the fun. Our family of 13 had plenty of room and enjoyed it very much. The management were incredibly professional and helpful. We couldn’t ask for a better vacation experience.5 Stars all the way!!!!!"

"The house was wonderful! Kitchen was well equipped and the view lived up to the pictures. The hot tub was perfect. The sleep number bed and remote controlled blinds in the main bedroom were great features. The beverage room was amazing for filtered water and coffee of all kinds."

"We enjoyed our stay at Icing on the Lake during Thanksgiving! There was lots of space for everyone in our group of 19. The house was well stocked for cooking, as well as, playing games, watching movies in the theater room, and simply spending quality time together. Everything was beautifully decorated and the host was gracious and welcoming. I would highly recommend this property for large family gatherings! "

"This vacation rental is definitely a 10 out of 10. The hostess was welcoming and accommodating. The townhome was more than enough room for my family, and I. The home sat directly on a cove perfect for great fishing. We have amazing pictures of large catfish that my son caught and released. The basement area was perfect for the guys to watch Football, have drinks and when they were tired of that, they sat outside around the fire pit. The Home even had kayaks that the boys put to use. The kitchen was well stocked with great quality cookware. We brought some of our own pots and pans, and ended up not really needing them. The entire home was clean, organized, and overall well put together. Great place to stay very relaxing and lots to do."

"Lovely autumn stay for our annual friendsgiving. The home is well appointed, in a great location. And the host is very accommodating. The kitchen was a big draw, and the last minute fried green tomatoes to the menu was a hit, courtesy of the property and host. But it was the couch that had us all raving. It was so cozy and became the spot be when a windy cold snap rolled in and the fire crackled."
