The best area to stay in La Vallée is the central village of Nouvelle, particularly around the Place de l'Église.

Nouvelle is the heart of La Vallée and offers the most convenience and access to local amenities. The area around Place de l'Église is very walkable, with shops, bakeries, and restaurants clustered together. You'll find the local market here on Wednesdays and Saturdays, selling fresh produce and regional specialities. The village is also home to the historic Église Saint-Martin, a great landmark.

Couples looking for a tranquil and authentic French experience will particularly enjoy Nouvelle. The village provides opportunities for leisurely strolls, enjoying meals at local bistros, and exploring the surrounding vineyards.

The best time to visit La Vallée is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these periods, you'll experience mild temperatures, superb for exploring the region's vineyards and quaint villages without the intense summer heat. The spring brings blossoming landscapes, while autumn offers stunning foliage and the excitement of the grape harvest. For couples, these seasons provide a romantic setting for wine tasting and scenic drives.

If you're planning a trip around specific events or looking for the warmest weather, July and August are popular, though busier. This is peak season, so expect more people and higher prices. Families often find the summer months appealing due to school holidays and warmer temperatures suitable for outdoor activities and river cruises.

Conversely, winter (November to March) is the quietest time, with cooler temperatures and some attractions operating on reduced hours.
