何の予備知識もなく

予備知識も全くなく一晩泊めていただきましたが、スタッフの方には大変親切にしていただき、本当に有難うございました。緊急事態宣言もあり、夕飯はお弁当を購入してお部屋でいただき、虫の声を聴きながらゆっくりお風呂に浸かり、山の自然を感じながら眠りました。朝食も美味しくコーヒーを何杯もお代わりしてしまいました。坂を上って行く事が苦でなければ、ぜひ八坂神社から徒歩で行かれてみて下さい。私はゆっくりとキョロキョロしながらの徒歩で大よそ２０分ぐらいだったと思います。

this is the place

The best part of my vacation. Magical quiet and private. Inside of historic park on top of a hill. I love this special place and will come back. The hosts are very helpful. The bath is great. Breakfast is delicious. Very close to walk to temples and shops. I am so happy here, looking into the garden and listening to the birds. Amazing!

Amazing find: traditional B&B in historic area

Great location on a peaceful, forested hillside spotted with temples and shrines. Easy walking to major sites and Gion. What really made it excellent was the high level of service from the staff, who were very accommodating and helpful (and speak English). Traditional style with tatami mats, futons, yakuta, a couple Japanese-style baths, etc. Great place to relax and have easy access to historic/cultural sites.

念願叶っての滞在

吉水さんへの滞在は、ここ数年にわたり機会を伺っていましたが、 長期滞在のリピーターが多いこともあり、全く予約が取れず ようやく念願が叶いました。 長楽館や未在、左阿彌と名だたる食事処を宿までの経路に持つ こともあり、片泊まり（朝食のみ提供）の日本旅館でガイドを 付ける程の洗練された滞在客が目立ち、喧騒とは無縁の落ち 着いた雰囲気の宿です。 各部屋には鍵はかかりません（個人管理）が、家族風呂 へ行くときも貴重品持参しておけば内側から鍵がかかる ので心配ありません。 オーバーツーリズムでない、旧き良き京都を味わうので あれば、是非こちらへ。

遠離繁囂的日式旅館

古雅寧靜的旅館，雖位處半山，但步行至市區商店街也只是十多分鐘，十分適合想體驗一下日式旅館的遊客。 旅館員工親切熱情，房間整潔，浴室有類似溫泉的浸浴地方，很舒適的旅程體驗。

It was great to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this inn. Kyoto was much busier than I imagined so staying here was a nice change and felt homely. Would recommend staying here but maybe arrange for a shuttle to get up the hill. It was a bit of a walk with luggage but not an unpleasant one.

泉の部屋みたいな部屋に住みたい。次は桜の季節に東山トレイルラン！

久しぶりの京都一人旅。 多くのサービスを望まない、でも快適に過ごしたいというあまのじゃくな自分の性格には最高に有難く、とっても満足できるお宿でした。下調べせずに気ままに歩いているといつの間にか辺り一面真っ暗になって、迷いましたが、一度覚えれば問題無かったです。 チェックアウト後に一度荷物を預けて、知恩院さんへ。 荷物を取りに戻ってからのおもてなしにも感謝です。 あえて希望を言うならば、夜にラウンジで軽く一杯できたなら。。。 旅の縁から自身の変化を促すならば、来年は英語を勉強することと、ランニングしたいと思いました。 この度は有り難うございました。 人生まだ長いので定宿にさせてもらいます！

Wish I had stayed longer!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this little inn. Removed from the bustle of the busy areas, it’s only a short walk to all kinds of Kyoto attractions. The hosts were most generous and kind. The breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this ryokan and would definitely also return.

Very typical JP accommodation with all what you need for your stay. Hospitality of the staff is outstanding and very helpful for all the question you need to explore in Kyoto. Great to have no TV and all this overdone useless electronic staff what you find in the most of the hotels today. Simple and traditional room with a view to trees absolutely quite. Can highly recommend for people looking to get out of standard accommodation.

Good point: It is good to be in a good location and rest surrounded by nature. The master is too kind. Bad point: The house is old and doesn't feel neat. There was dust and cobwebs in my room. There was a sound of flooring every time I moved. Most of all, it is inconvenient because bathrooms and restrooms are common. A person who is sensitive to bird sounds is hard to sleep at dawn. Breakfast is too simple. Overall, the price quality is not good.

Authentic Feel and Superb Hospitality

Amazing! The service is another level! Not only are you greeted with kindness they really go above and beyond to ensure your stay is good! They helped us plan our next trip to Mt. Fuji, scheduled our buses for us and even would help us order food. It was so amazing we had to extend the stay! The location is nice and underrated while allowing easy access to some AMAZING sites and historical locations that are all pretty much a 20-30 minute walking radius. The fact they share their authentic history and rich culture by opening their doors to foreigners is honestly the best part. It really felt like home and that you grew up in the area with how friendly and caring they are. If you are staying in Kyoto to experience the culture of Japan and are looking for assistance beyond just your stay I highly recommend this location!
