Frequently asked questions

Which area of Ko Phi Phi is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious solo travellers, staying in the central areas of Ko Phi Phi Don, particularly around Tonsai Village and Loh Dalum Bay, offers the best options for cheap hotels and guesthouses. These areas are the heart of the island's activity, providing easy access to amenities and a lively option without breaking the bank.

Tonsai Village is the main hub where ferries arrive, meaning accommodation here often comes at a lower price point due to its bustling nature and proximity to the pier. Solo travellers will find a lot of hostels and guesthouses, many offering dormitory beds or basic private rooms. You'll be right at the centre of the action, with numerous eateries serving affordable Thai food, convenience shops, and travel agencies for booking excursions. While it can be lively at night, there are quieter spots located just a short walk away from the main strip.

Loh Dalum Bay, located just a short stroll from Tonsai Village, also has a good selection of budget accommodation. It's a popular spot for solo travellers due to its long, shallow beach and a slightly more relaxed vibe during the day, transitioning into a lively social scene in the evenings. Many guesthouses here are just steps from the sand, offering a fantastic value for money.

Numerous spots just off the main shores, particularly around Long Beach and the rocky outcrops of Ton Sai Bay, offer clear waters filled with colourful fish.
