"Room was big and clean with a lovely bed. Bathroom was ok but looking a bit tired. Parking was easy. Breakfast was great, everything you could want including omlettes. Didnt like the orange juice was more like orange squash. Public areas were modern and clean."

"We found The Talbot a very nice hotel. The only thing we didn’t like was that they added a 10% service charge onto our evening meal bill. The receipt said that this additional charge goes directly to the waitress and if you didn’t want to pay it you could ask for it to be removed. Any tip should be at the customer’s discretion. How embarrassing would it be to ask for them to remove it!! The hotel should make sure it’s staff are paid well so they don’t have to rely on customers’ tips. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay with the hotel being in a very good location for visiting Malton and surrounding areas."

"Room was clean and tidy, good amenities especially with the small fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good choice and served very quickly. Ample parking at the rear of the building. Good choice of evening meal, only sorry we weren't there on Sunday for the carvery. Great location in a beautiful small village. Would recommend and stay again."
