"The Mary Mount is a lovely hotel that is in the PERFECT spot - the lower end of Derwentwater and right at one of the ferry stops! The scenery is remarkable! The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I would have is the room we stayed in had an uncomfortable bed and was a bit noisy in the evening when people were having a late dinner or drinks. The walls dont keep the noise out. Other than that I loved the stay and would stay again but probably get a different room, requesting one far from the the kitchen dining area."

"For a 3 star hotel this ticks all the boxes great value excellent breakfast and a lovely set dinner menu that changes daily. Lovely friendly but professional staff and quiet location but still less than a 5 minute walk to town. You do need to book for dinner as this is a very popular restaurant. If I could find one fault it would be on a personal opinion only and that is that dinner service is to quick between courses but that’s because I like each course to go down before the next is served. But fantastic service and we will definitely be returning."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Grange Country House! We got stuck in traffic driving up from London and arrived later than anticipated (just before 8pm) but the owner, Mark, stayed in contact with us on our drive up and was there to greet us, show us around, give us breakfast order slips and lead us to our room. The room was comfortable, spacious, cool and quiet! Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff made excellent recommendations about where to hike and eat. We would have stayed longer if we could - it was a beautiful b&b in a beautiful location!!"

"A beautiful B & B run by Karen in a tiny hamlet near Keswick. The room was delightful with comfortable bed and furnishings that matched the age and style of the building perfectly. Lovely view from the window over Karen's wonderful garden with, at the time I stayed, a hen with 8 tiny chicks. Parking was easy and the breakfasts filling and delicious. A wonderful stay in the Lake District."
