The best area to stay in Kertanguy is the coastal stretch around the Pointe de Kertanguy, offering direct access to the sea and the town's most celebrated views.

This area is characterised by its rugged coastline, interspersed with sandy coves and dramatic cliffs. The main road, D789, winds along the coast, providing access to various viewpoints and a few select hotels and guesthouses. It's a naturally beautiful and relatively undeveloped part of Brittany, superb for those seeking a tranquil escape with breathtaking scenery.

Couples often find this area particularly appealing for a romantic break. The hotels here often feature stunning sea views and offer a peaceful setting for relaxation. You're perfectly positioned for coastal walks along the sentier des douaniers (customs officers' path), exploring secluded beaches like Plage de l'Île Vierge, and enjoying fresh seafood at local restaurants with ocean backdrops.

For families, staying slightly inland but still within easy reach of the coast offers excellent options. Areas just a short drive from the Pointe, like those around the village centre, provide a good balance. Here you'll find more self-catering accommodations and easy access to local amenities, including bakeries and small shops.

The best time to go to Kertanguy is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, the weather is typically mild and sunny, great for exploring the coastal paths and local villages without the heat or the busy atmosphere of the peak summer months. You'll find most attractions, restaurants, and shops are open, but you won't have to contend with large numbers of tourists. This makes it ideal for couples looking for a relaxed break or solo travellers seeking a tranquil escape to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

If you're planning a family holiday, the summer months of July and August offer the warmest weather for beach activities and swimming. While it's the busiest time, the longer daylight hours and the full range of seasonal activities, like watersports and outdoor markets, are in full swing.
