Nice Hotel 12 minutes walk from the Bus Station & square. Clean room, good hot shower. Excellent view from Balcony.

This is where you want to stay!
We will definitely come back! The room was large and comfortable, the view was spectacular, and the breakfast in the morning (additional charge) was delicious! Everyone was so kind and helpful. We really liked this place a lot!

The staff were very kind and helpful, the hotel is so beautiful and the views are spectacular we highly recommend this hotel. If we visit Kalabaka again, we definitely would stay in this hotel.

Authentic, very comfortable, Vintage Inn
Authentic vintage inn in the quietest corner of a very busy tourist town. GPS is the best way to find it, and worth it. Optional breakfast is so-so but that is our only complaint. Will stay here again.

Picturesque hotel right beside Meteora Monasteries
Gorgeous little family run hotel right on the footsteps of the meteora monasteries. The owner was delightful and prepared a lovely breakfast in the morning, with authentic Greek pastries and Bougatsa!

We had a fantastic stay at Alsos House. We were traveling as a family of five and the apartment was very spacious and clean. We had a balcony where we could look out at the amazing cliffs of Meteora and the hike up to the Holy Trinity Monastery was right next to the hotel. Everyone working there was helpful and kind. We recommend it highly.

Perfect spot, friendly staff but the bed mattress is very old, very hard. Some money needs to be spent on new mattresses

Checkin was smooth. The walking trail of the monastery starts just outside the property which is very convenient . Very Close to market and restaurants .

A wonderful hotel at the bottom of Meteora. The rooms were very well laid out and spacious. The area is in a quiet neighbourhood in Kalabata, and is walking distance to the town centre for restaurants and bars. It is also near many walking trails in Meteora, with the Monastery of the Holy Trinity a 30 minute hike away. The hotel was also terrific value for money given that you are at one of the busiest tourist spots at a UNESCO world heritage site. I will definitely come back and stay there again.

What an incredible view from our window! Seeing Meteora was one of our priorities on our trip to Greece, and Alsos House provided us a convenient and exceptionally scenic location to start that visit. Our only misfortune was that we actually had access to another room--a bedroom that we were unaware of for the first night. Just happened to discover it after spending the first night on a couch. Staff was very accommodating, and provided us laundry service.

First impression was this was an amazing place! The exterior of the house and the surrounding outside views are picturesque. The interior of the rooms seems a bit dated but overall nice. The only issue we had with the rooms (other than the BIG problem mentioned below) is the flooring in the room is freezing. Since we had a party of 4 the gentlemen running the place offered us a larger room and we were so excited to stay, even if it was for just one night. That unfortunately is where the euphoria of finding this charming site completely wore off. The room had a strange odor when we first started unpacking. When we returned from our visit to Meteora and laid down in bed, the smell got worse. After checking around the bed and not finding where the smell was coming from, I flipped onto my stomach and realized I was laying on top of cat urine!! Somehow one of the stray cats had gotten into the room and peed on the bed. When I approached who I am assuming was the gentlemen's wife about this she immediately tried to pin the urine on my family by insinuating I had left a door or window open and let the cat in. Her English was a bit broken and I don't speak a lick of Greek, so she called the gentleman, he also went right to me allowing the cat to enter. He did profusely apologize and get us another room. Unfortunately that wasn't our only issue. They claim to have laundry service, and they did wash my clothes but there was a big catch. When I approached

dear Lisa Kennewick First we would like to thank you for being with us and we are sorry that this unhappy event took place with the cat in your room. Be sure that we love animals but sometimes they are ...making mistakes, like we do. As our accommodation is at the corner of the rocks, cat go by like all over Greece. people and visitors and kids do like them , and feed them. so they come and go... we know all this and we do take care of the rooms, to protect them and we have special mosquito nets every where.....to avoid unpleasent incident like this one. we do apologize about that. This of course if not your faults and definetely had not any idea to pin this to you .i simply asked as i did not know what had happend. Now about the FLOOR. : WITH CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC we are not aloud to use any carpets any more in the rooms etc ..but only beds..covers...and relatives... No about the washing : its true you did paid it: in the old days was for free but now days , electricity is very expensive and washing and drying using special machines, MIELE, HAS A COST, and food too and gas,,and petrol. it's very expencive for us too, Greece gradually becomes expensive for visitors and honestly we can not keep it under control And again we are apologize about the unpleasant situation . we wish you to have a good time and be strong and healthy. with kind regards alsoshouse yiannis Karakantas owner

I am soo glad I chose to stay at Alsos House during my trip to Meteora! Not only is the location BREATHTAKING to say the least, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable; I cannot believe the price for how awesome this place is! The manager is very helpful and friendly and there is ample free parking which is always a relief! It only takes about 10 minutes to drive up to see the beautiful monasteries and rock formations of Meteora, and there are several shops and restaurants within walking distance (about a 10 minute walk through the amazingly unique, old-timey neighborhood). You will not regret your stay here... I promise you that! :)

Greek Road Trip
Beautiful scenic location. Great view from Balcony. Smooth check-in. Parking directly next to property. Good cold refrigerator and hot heating. Quiet location and a 10 minute walk into town. Ramp for luggage (found this out after the fact). Nice size room and very clean. No breakfast (due to COVID). Google maps will get you to the front door, Great value and great location, I would return again if in the area.

I had very carefully researched where I wanted to stay, which is why I choses Alsos House. However, I was quite disappointed when we arrived and after much consideration, the man at reception moved us next door to "Elena's Guesthouse". If that is where I wanted to stay, I would have booked that. I chose the rooms at Alsos House because of the brightness and cleanliness of the rooms, and the balcony with the view. Instead, we were put next door in a VERY dark room, that had an unpleasant odor (dog maybe?) and had a balcony that faced the walls of other, very close, buildings. As he was trying to decide what room to give us, he said, "I see you booked on Expedia." I believe that he put us in this room because we had gotten a deal on the room, and so he gave us something lesser value. However, I expect to being given what I have booked and paid for. That being said, we did sleep quietly and comfortably.
