"Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!"

"Everything is great and value for money. The only thing you may need to consider is the 10-15 minutes walk from railway station and major visitor's area , though they provide shuttle to the railway station."

"Close to bamboo forest, being first time in Japan, the meaning of adults only is different than at resorts, but l was surprised by the comfort and the shuttle service provided. And the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. "

"Breakfast was great. We had ordered ala carte dinner and all items were very delicious.
Staff was very respectful and friendly.
The coffee shop had amazing tea and coffee.
We didn’t venture out there for shops so can’t say anything about other nearby shopping stores.
Rooms were spacious and clean. They had a common room to use with sofa etc. Loved the stay in this ryokan."
"Very spacious and very comfortable room. All staff very professional. Breakfast buffet - good selection but as with many buffets food was warm rather than hot. "
"The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was nice spacious. The room themselves could have been cleaner, the walls in the room have been dinged up by suitcases over time. The public bath is great. The location was alright, it's actually not as central to most of the hotspots in Kyoto but being close to Nijo Station which has a subway line and a JR line helped alot."
"This is a traditional ryokan with onsen facilities, and we chose the half-board option. The kaiseki dinner was excellent—beautifully presented and far more food than anyone could realistically finish. Breakfast was also outstanding, with the choice of either a Japanese or Western-style meal.
The resort is slightly removed from the main tourist area of Arashiyama, located across the river and close to one of the train stations, though not the most central lines. This does make it feel quieter, but also means a bit more travel if you're exploring the area.
The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The onsen facilities were extremely relaxing and perfect after a full day of hiking.
Overall, a classic ryokan experience with exceptional meals and hospitality."
"Excellent service and great location if you want to go to Arashiyama. Room is also spacious. Breakfast is typical Japanese foods. Overall, we have a wonderful stay"
