"This is an attractive historical building but hard to stay in. Check-in and breakfast are 1 mile away; this was not disclosed in the reservation process. There are no staff members on the premises, although when called in, Drakkar was friendly and helpful. Lighting in my room was very inconvenient -- no bathroom illumination, bedroom chandelier did not work, but florescent tube over bookcase could not be turned off. My room was on the ground floor with only lace curtains between me and the...

"The room was spotless and and the bed was very comfortable. The extras, like fresh cookies and a carafe of water waiting for us in the room was a delightful way to end the day."
"Every thing from check in to check out was excellent. The room was wonderful and comfortable, I slept well. The only issue was that during a conference only one elevator worked, so I actually took the stairs to the 5th floor, at least I was able to get my steps in, other than that I highly recommend this hotel. "I recently stayed at the historic Upjohn House Bed and Breakfast in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo, and it was a truly memorable experience. This beautifully restored mansion is decorated with charming period details that give it an elegant, old-world atmosphere while still offering modern comforts.
I stayed for two nights and loved how easy it was to walk to all the shops, restaurants, and attractions downtown. I also attended a concert at Miller Auditorium, which was conveniently located less than two miles away.
The house itself was quiet and relaxing especially since I had it all to myself during my Sunday-Monday stay. I enjoyed a fantastic room with a very firm and comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. The room also had a smart TV with a Roku device, which made it easy to log into my favorite streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube.
One highlight of the stay was the clean and inviting hot tub, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. The whole place felt homey, peaceful, and well cared for. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and comfortable stay in Kalamazoo!"
