My family and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was my daughter's birthday trip.I requested a decoration room and a birthday cake. The staff were extremely helpful! My daughter didn't know the surprise that's why she was so delighted! The decoration was pretty and of course the cake was delicious! The location and breakfast were also nice, we can access the central of the city easily. It takes only 10 minutes on foot. l love the view from the restaurant in the hotel. I appreciate the hotel. I'd like to come back soon! Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The location is perfect, close to main attractions and easy access to transportation. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the city!

We were very pleased with this hotel. It is not new, but very cozy, on the contrary, it is even better. The staff is amazing, they helped us with all our questions, special thanks to the staff for the breakfasts, we really enjoyed them every morning.location - the very heart of Istanbul, just perfect. There is a very nice market nearby, we bought a lot of clothes and Turkish delight there. Highly recommended.

Great, comfortable hotel

We loved our time at Sumengen! The staff was wonderful, especially John and Fakir. Very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were lovely, with lots of choices. And the location was perfect for us. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I highly recommend this small, well-run hotel.

These people are shameless liars. They did not let us check in this hotel, put us in some other place. We were not given any other choice. They blame hotels.com system. So disrespectful. I know they do the same to many guests. God damn their business!

It's a perfect families place and seniors couples, its very close to the old city, mesquitas, shopping and museums. The service is amazing, the breakfast is a typical turkish menú, We have a good experience with new flavors and food. If you hope the typical american breakfast ,this is not the place, but if you're intelligent and searching the best place for your vacations, this is the place. All the personal in the hotel ,works for your confort and rest.

A good home base

Ok let’s start with the good. The location was excellent. Right in the middle of everything. The view from our room was gorgeous. The staff was friendly. The not so good-super thin walls. We could hear neighbors pretty much doing anything all night. Enough to keep you up. The facilities are a bit run down so don’t expect plush accommodations.

As advertised in a good way.

Great location for access to the sights. The views from room and dining room were good, could watch the boats and dolphins. Free breakfast was terrific, excellent selection of Turkish breakfast foods. Room was comfortable and clean, but could be noisy in morning as we were directly below the dining room, but it was time to get up anyway. Only downsides was some difficulty with the level of English with all the staff so we were unsure of communication at times, the pushing of pamphlets at the desk of high end tours and restaurants. I would also have liked seating, maybe cushions and rugs, on the rooftop level as the views are fantastic but no place to sit.
