the owner of this place is awesome. super sweet guy that's happy to share reccs for things to do. the location is awesome as well, super central, easy to get anywhere from here and very quiet at night. perfect for a short stay, or if you spend most of your time exploring and not in the room

It is the second time we are staying here, very friendly atmosphere, assistant before arrival via Whatsapp, reach breakfast. Location in most popular area in the city, but quite, not much traffic. We got our room early than check in time and have posibility to leave our luggage till our transfer. Thanks to Faruk, he was very professional and helpful. See you next visit in Istanbul.

False advertising “free shuttle” - NOT

Hotels dot com portrayed this as a hotel that included an airport shuttle at no charge. This is completely false advertising! Indeed the hotel wanted 40€ each way to pick up and drop off customers. That cost MORE than the room itself. Horrible customer service in trying to get my questions answered ahead of leaving Canada. Example: Where to meet the shuttle, how to schedule the shuttle ahead of time if needed, and what methods of payment the shuttle would accept etc. I ended up booking a much nicer hotel nearer to the airport and only a $10 taxi fare to get there, Golden River by Continent.

Los mejor la ubicación, muy justito

Bien ubicado y nada más. Escaleras para las habitaciones, súper estrechas, si llevas peso, lo tienes mal. Sin servicios, ni máquina para comprar un agua. Las mezquitas muy cerca no dejan dormir a las 6am y muuuy viejo y en condiciones muy justitas. Pero barato por su ubicación.

Çok kötü

Suyun ısınması çok uzun sürüyordu, tv çalışmıyordu, WiFi a bağlanamadık ve en önemlisi oda hiç temiz değildi. Odaya giriş olacağı için yapılan hiçbir hazırlık yoktu (su, havlu vs) , oda günlerdir kimse uğramamış gibiydi. Kısacası bir otelde aradığınız her şey eksikti. Çok kötü bir deneyimdi asla tavsiye etmem.

Excellent experience

Very pleasant stay at Minel Hotel. The owner family is brilliant with guests from greeting to room service and everything else. The room was neat and tidy and absolutely worth every penny I paid. The location is in heart of old Istanbul with all the historic sites a walking distance away. The local shops and restaurants serve very nice food and provide everyday essentials which is quite convenient. I will definitely use it again.

An Enjoyable Accommodation

The Minel is a cozy aged accommodation situated on a side alley quite close to all the cultural sites that make this area such a tourist destination ... while lacking in some amenities, the hotel is very comfortable and the owner is very accommodating in making your stay a pleasant one. My experience is based on my stay in the top floor apartment, which was amazingly roomy with a king bed, couch sitting area, kitchen and shower bath ... the most attractive feature is a large outdoor terrace with great views of the city and surrounded by dense forest growth ... you can see Hagia Sofia Mosque, which is only a short walk from the hotel ... all in all I enjoyed my stay and if your on a budget I would highly recommend the top floor apartment, which can accommodate 3 persons

Отличное расположение. Тихое место. Номера маленькие, но для одного человека хорошо. Если отремонтировать мебель, обновить краску на стенах, заменить полотенца и посиельное белье на более новое, то оценка отеля могла бы быть отлично и можно было бы поднять стоимость за проживание.

Pros: Close to city center, close to tram station, good breakfast, Notes: There is no elevator in the hotel, bed sheet had small stain, hotel is located in a small alley, you cannot get closed to the hotel by car or taxi.

What a little gem. All that is needed for a city trip. Rooms basic but beautifully clean, tidy with all the amenities you require. Rooms have everything specified and the staff are very kind, helpful and willing to give you handy hints on getting about. We arrived very late but this was absolutely no problem. The buffet style breakfast was just what we required,’ continental’ in style with local Turkish produce. The location couldn’t be better for the main tourist sights of the Golden Horn literally ten minutes stroll or five minutes brisk walk away, just follow the tram line. Travellers should be aware that there is no lift but staff are more than willing to take your luggage up for you, but not a staircase for the infirm. Perhaps a little difficult to find, tucked away in a beautifully quiet back street, but a good landmark is the Gülhane Sark Sofrasi in Alay Köşkü Caddesi.(Great food and hospitality for the evening) I would have no hesitation in using The Minel again.

Friendly staff. Allowed me into my room early on arrival. There were small snacks available when I arrived and wi-fi, so I could get some urgent emails sent. At night it was quiet and I slept great. Bathroom was clean and modern. Modern, good lighting.
