"The villa was a great stay, very spacious, clean, well equipped, with great ocean view of the inlet. We were fortunate to have very clear skies at night and were able to see a sky full of stars and the milky way from the balcony. Walking distance to the Skookumchuck Narrows, Sechelt Rapids, trailhead. Highly recommend."

"We had a fantastic stay at Painted Boat Resort. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a two-bedroom unit, which was especially appreciated since we were travelling with our infant. Having the extra space made the stay so much easier. The view from our unit overlooking the marina was absolutely stunning. It was incredibly peaceful, which was perfect when we needed to let our baby nap. The unit itself was beautiful and had everything we needed, including a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a loft. Our upgraded unit could comfortably accommodate up to eight people. You can tell some of the renovations and finishes are probably 15–20 years old, but everything was still very nicely maintained and felt comfortable and high quality. We especially appreciated having a full kitchen, which made travelling with a young child much more convenient. The location is a big part of the appeal. If you’re looking to get away from the city, relax, enjoy the marina, and spend time outdoors, it’s a beautiful place to stay. There are lots of hiking opportunities nearby. Once you get past Gibsons and Sechelt, though, there isn’t a whole lot to walk around and explore in terms of shops or restaurants, so it’s definitely more of a destination for enjoying nature and relaxing. We even heard that a grizzly bear and her three cubs had been spotted in the area during our stay, which was both really cool and a little terrifying!"

"What a beautiful and cozy place! The views, food, and hospitality were excellent! We had such a great time staying here and the rain stopped enough for us to do a little hike and kayak! We even loved the view when it was socked in. Thank you so much!"

"We loved our stay! We got lucky that the fire ban had ended, so we were able to enjoy a lovely campfire, which made the evenings extra special. We also made our way down to the water and did some kayaking. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot.The kitchen is really well stocked and had everything we needed during our stay. Even a can opener! Ian and Jackie are incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. They even made us a banana bread to welcome us, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch.Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our time here.One fair warning for anyone planning to head down to the water: there are about 150 steps, with a combination of stairs and a bit of a hill. It all feels secure and well maintained, but it is definitely a bit of a trek, especially coming back up! Something to keep in mind if stairs or mobility are a concern.Thanks again, Ian and Jackie, for such a lovely stay!"
