It’s a real spectacle. The town though hasn’t always been associated with tourism, it was a Royal Navy base through the world wars and up until 1956. The firth around Invergordon has been often described as one of the best natural harbours in the world, hence the cruise ships now. The world war history is featured in many of the 17 murals on the trail.
