A farm surrounded by the primeval forest on the goddess island of Miyajima
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (28)
"I spent the final night of my 12 day visit to Japan here, and had the most wonderful time. First, you won’t find a more accommodating host than Kenji. He provided excellent communication throughout my stay and carefully walked me through everything about the property upon arrival. His English is excellent. It’s important to know that some preparation is needed to get the most out of your visit. First, as other reviewers mentioned, Kenji provides transportation to and from his farm and the...

Itsukushima Iroha
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (215)
"Lovely hotel on the promenade overlooking the bay. We stayed 2 nights. Staff was exceedingly polite. Only problem is that everywhere to eat in town closes at 4-5 pm and the hotel offers only a very large prix fixe dinner that must be reserved in advance. A hotel in this price range should make allowances for guests who don’t want or need the full dinner experience. "

Miyajima Kinsuikan
3.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (47)
"A little challenging to get to but once you’re there you understand why. Really beautiful location. Tough to get food at night because most of the restaurants cater only to the daytime tourists which was tough and the ferry only runs so late so you can’t get dinner late and head back. Would suggest two nights at most and hotel should be a bit more proactive about suggesting offsite food options. Staff was nice when we got there and accommodating. Loved the daytime adventures. We had two rooms —...

The sushi meal provided by our host was such a great experience and so yummy. He was the loveliest host and even took us for a walk to see all the beautiful sites at night. Can’t thank you enough. "A cute, clean experience in a typical Japanese Ryokan! The onson was lovely even though its in the basement with no view. Oddly, there were very few restaurants on the island open for dinner. We did find an excellent local one. The beat part was the view of the harbour and hike and tram up the mountain!!!"

"Tasty food paired with good views and a short ferry ride from Hiroshima. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. They had many amenities and a nice, calm atmosphere perfect for relaxation and a soak in their Onsen. They offered a complimentary ride to and from the ferry, and made sure I made it to the port on time. (Otherwise a 10 minute walk) would recommend to a friend. "
