"What a great ryokan experience! Definitely a highlight of our trip. This was our introduction to an onsen and it was perfect. The meals are a must! The food is so fresh and delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Grand Hotel Arimoto and would come again."

Miyajima Coral Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Close to train station, clean, walkable to ferry "
"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic — definitely worth adding to your stay. The hotel also features a great pool, which our kids loved.
A few things to keep in mind: the hotel does not offer shuttle services, and the nearest train station is about a 13-minute walk away. Therefore, you may need to take a taxi for most outings, especially if you’re traveling with children or luggage. Also, if you plan to enjoy the pool, swim caps are required. You can bring your own or rent one at the hotel for 500 yen.
Overall, we truly loved our experience, and our kids didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend this hotel, especially for families."
"The Miyajima Hotel Makato was an absolutely excellent experience. Their customer service was the best I have ever seen in my life! They were very helpful with every need and request. I absolutely would stay here again! The only thing I would change was the type of room. Make sure you want to stay in a traditional room if that is what you want. It is what we requested and was so cool. Next time I would stay in a modern room. They were excellent!"
"If you are planning on spending a night in Miyajima, this hotel was fantastic. The staff is amazing, they pick you up and drop you off to the ferry terminal, even though it is a 6/7 minute walk. There is a small japanese garden and a public bath.
The island itself is magical, small and cute. The restaurants close early and some open until 8:30, but it might be a good idea to find same day reservations once you find where you want to eat. The hotel offers a room with food/restaurant service that you can purchase when booking. "
