"We've stayed at the Grand Excelsior 3 times in the last decade, and although the hotel is spotless, and the common areas are maintained to a very high level-Its time for the hotel furnishings could to be updated. With the influx of modern and renovated hotels within the city of Valetta, the hotel needs to renovate its rooms and bring them into the twenty first century."

There is a huge building under construction in the area but once we was in the hotel complex this was not a problem at all . "Basic hotel but outstanding as such. Lovely breakfast included- cooked full English and continental - grab bags available if you want take breakfast out. Room clean , beds comfy. Can be a little noisy late on an evening due to the nightclubs surrounding the area of hotel- but not too bothersome. Good location to bus routes and several places walkable. Plenty of dining options. Would definately recommend ."
