"Feels like an upmarket hotel with really attentive staff. Unfortunately my room, despite being really spacious looked tired and worn. The communal areas are very welcoming and they have a good breakfast. Swimming pool also looks a bit tired. Sauna area and gym are really good."

"I booked the accommodation for a present for my partner with our friends. They had a room twice the size of ours which was lovely for them but quite disappointing for us. There was no socket near the mirror to plug in the hairdryer."

"This is our 2nd time at this hotel & this time we asked for a room on the top floor as the lower floor twin rooms have a view of the pool /gym metal roof . Im pleased to say the room was newly decorated and was beautiful with a really good view . Parking is charged at £5 which is a shame its not included. breakfast is £12.50 if booked in advance but we ate at the pub next door £7.99 Ive tried both places for breakfast and can confirm that the hotel one is better despite being more expensive."

"Lovely hotel, clean spacious room, however fault with air-conditioning unit kept us awake throughout the night. Reported it straight away and staff supposedly coming to fix it. They did not. Reported again when checking out and front of staff didnt seem concerned. Only issue. Other than that decent stay. Good selection of food at breakfast."

"Friendly staff, very good breakfast and comfortable room. Parking at a partner property relatively close was OK though frankly road network in Sheffield is now a nightmare (make sure your satnav is up to date and just resign yourself to driving much further than line of sight!). Our bathroom was a little bit "tired" - slow basin runaway and wobbly loo seat."

"Super hotel and the golf course was amazing. Checking in staff were poor on arrival, not very friendly, far more friendly when we left in the morning. When we went for a swim as a family it wasn’t clear as to how to enter the barrier with your hotel card. A lady behind the counter was quite rude about it and literally laughed at us. Kind of ruined the experience for us. I’ve never written a review before and main reason for writing is due to the rude staff on arrival. Certainly not all the staff just one or two most are friendly. Anyway great place, very clean and good amenities. Nice breakfast in the morning and warm and friendly staff next morning. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable but fairly standard I guess. Rooms nice and lovely bathroom. Golf course is amazing having recently gone under a transformation. Like I say all in all very nice stay just ruined by evening staff at reception. "

"A repeat stay for us was excellent -- the hotel is comfortable, quiet with good aircon and walking distance to anything in Buxton. Note access to the indoor and outdoor pools is now paid-for separately (does not come included with bed and breakfast rates). "
