"This was my favorite stay out of all of my accomodations in Japan even if I was only there for a day (wish I stayed longer!). Soku-san and his wife are the kindest people ever and offered amazing hospitality. Gao is the cutest dog I've ever seen and I was super happy to get a picture with him at the end of my stay. "12月24日に宿泊させて頂きました。 180年以上前に建てられた古民家の宿は、雪に覆われていて最高の日に宿泊できた事は本当に運が良かったです。 館内はとても清潔に保たれていて、気持ち良く過ごす事ができました。 石庭も手入れが行き届いていて、雪吊りが雪国を感じさせてくれました。 今度は、雪の無い時期にお庭のウッドデッキでバーベキューなんかもしてみたいです。 スタッフの皆様のお気遣いにも感謝しています。 一緒に営業している飲食店を探してくれたり、雪の少ない道を案内してくれたりと本当に助かりました。 本当にありがとうございました。"

"It was great experience staying at this place. Right after we went to gala Yuzawa ski came back to the hotel and dipped ourselves into the large Ofuro in the basement. Smoking was not allowed inside or well outside the house so it was the only problem me and my friends faced during the stay but all in all we enjoyed our stay at the place. Place is warm and cozy. Recommend for friends and family or in groups over 5 people. "

It was in a great location and we had a little bar right next to us so we could stop for a drink. Easy walk to the historic town or to the Samurai village. I would highly recommend it. "

"A fabulous, quaint, traditional property in a superb location. The free hot bathing room privately available, was very enjoyable too. The proprietor was very attentive and helpful and you can tell he's rightly very proud to be Japanese. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is we found the mattresses uncomfortable. That may be just our bodies, but we struggled. "

"Interesting traditional inn but modern facilities. Staff guide you around the property, which is quite unusual when you're used to staying in standars hotels. Staff have varying levels of English but thanks to Google translate it didn't cause any problems. Slight miscommunication about our check out time, but it was resolved and we found our way out of the hotel(!)"

"Akakura Yours inn was amazing. Everything about our stay here was absolutely wonderful. The location, the onsite onsen, the food, having shuttle to the mountain -- it all made our trip perfect."

"Hotel was in a quiet area but just down the road from a main area. The hotel was quiet and they accommodated our early check in. We had a big room with a nice patio. The only issue was that there was a strong musk smell. I think it is due to the wood but one person in my group was sensitive to the smell and it bothered them. "

"I felt really welcomed in this hotel. The ladies at the front desk were really friendly and kind. I brought my motorcycle and they let me park it in a covered area that belonged to the hotel. Overall I’m really happy, the location is really close to the main port, there’s a drug store at a walking distance to buy late snacks and water etc. The beds were not too comfortable but I didn’t care as the attention overcame the issue. "Be warned: this property is NOT in Minamiuonuma, or even very close to town. To avoid an absurd taxi fare, catch the local train to Shiozawa and arrange for the property owner to pick you up at the station. That aside, the property itself is very basic, but also charming. Owner is absolutely lovely. Location has outstanding views, and the back of the building directly faces a ski lift. As long as you're not expecting much from the place, it is more than sufficient for a quick stay."

"The W&M House is simply outstanding. The suites are spacious, immaculate, well appointed, and very reasonably priced. While there is not much in the immediate area, the guest house is a short walk to many of the best spots in Kanazawa, whether the restaurant and nightlife district, the Omicho market, museums, and the gorgeous Kenroku-en Gardens. The manager is fantastic. Bill met us and showed us to our room, everything is clearly labeled, and when one of our party had an illness he helped out...

"Service was excellent. Owner was super nice. This was a super convinient hotel to stay as the convinience store was located right across the street. The snow gear rental was one shop over. The nearest restuarant was 50 feet away. Would I return? 100% i would. "
