Find more excellent displays at the Ateneum Art Museum, a short stroll south. Works from the painters Edelfelt, Simberg and Halonen are hung proudly here while the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary ArtOpens in a new window just west celebrates the unusual with bright colours and strange sculptures.

Walk northwest to see the colossal Parliament BuildingOpens in a new window which dates back to the 1920s. Gaze up at the tall pillars that support a classical façade made completely from red granite.

Continue until you reach the Temppeliaukio ChurchOpens in a new window. This remarkable structure is built into solid stone with sheet glass and copper stripping forming a beautiful domed roof. Check online or at the tourist office in town for times of upcoming concerts.

Don’t miss Kamppi ChapelOpens in a new window in Narinkkatori Square. Crafted from intricately shaped wood, the chapel has been awarded several international architecture awards.
