"No friendly welcome from the guy at reception, room has large damp stain on ceiling. Shower opening very small. Complained of noisy room at 10.15pm due to refrigeration unit outside bedroom window starting up every 5 mins .Sounded like a lorry with engine running . Asked for earplugs non available . Dressed at returned toi receptin at 12.10am to complain again as couldnt sleep for noise . Night porter switched off the noisy unit and then fired it back yp at 5.45 . Terrible stay in room one . "

"As soon as we arrived we were greated by a member of staff who booked us in and showed us to our room. The room is beautiful and has fridge bar and lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Everything is very clean and room is checked each day, making sure you have everything you need. also the room was quiet and relaxing and the bed is really comfortable. You can choose a time that suitsThe bathroom is lovely and spacious with shower wash etc. also the room was quiet and relaxing You can choose a time that suits you for breakfast before 11am. Breakfast was amazing. You can choose any coffee from the menu and then you are brought a tray with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and jugs of orange and apple juice. You can then choose anything from the hot food. Everything was very tasty and we were offered more hot drinks. All the servers were polite and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely be back."

"The instructions to gain entrance to house where clear and precise. Everything you need was there very clean and tidy. Great suggestions on places to eat. A lovely cottage in a great location. It was an ideal base for me to go cycling. Definitely would stay again to use for a base to get out on my bike."

"Excellent bungalow rob the owner very helpful. Would stay again. Large garden but a low wall near front gate so a dog called jump over on to busy road. But problem solved by putting dog on rope tied to tree trunk or bench plenty of equipment excellent heating."

"The house itself is stunning, the location is so quiet and so beautiful. Amazing views across to the windmill and down a little track so feels private. Village is lovely, friendly people and easy access to lots of local outings, =Chatsworth House worth the drive. Honesty bar and greeting gift were a lovely touch. The Black Boy recommendation was well-deserved, fab food.Massive bedrooms with comfy beds, entrance boot room ideal for getting in/out the house and all the junk! Gorgeous decorating, open space and social areas are great, everyone loved the indoor and outdoor games. Spot on communication and nice clear instructions to get there, the sign on the fence really helped us spot it. Fake grass meant we could use the garden even when it rained. Juglans barn is quite new to rental so we suggested a few modifications to the owner and they were open and welcomed our suggestions. When we stayed the main bedroom upstairs didn't have blinds or a door to make the most of the view (it's sort of an open suite of rooms set up), it didn't cause us any issues but we did suggest some form of privacy/blocking out the light might be useful. It does get quite warm upstairs but not unbearable if you open windows. I'd really recommend Juglans Barn."

"Located 15mins from Matlock, this property is in an excellent quiet location. Beds comfortable, Hot Tub which was clean and perfect temperature the moment we arrived. Odd bit of maintenance Ive informed the owner about but did not affect our stay. Communication was constant throughout the stay answering questions we had almost instantly. Really nice touches like washing up liquid, condiments and small things you would not expect from a vrbo property. The games room which was a hit with my kids. We would come back and recommend "

"My best friend and I stayed here and we couldn't be happier. It's even more beautiful than the pictures, and the host was so easy to reach if we had any questions or concerns. As an American we were a little nervous because it is a small local village, but everyone there made us feel like locals and were very welcoming when they met us. Can't recommend this stay enough, already talking about staying here next year."
