"We were there b/c of the family rooms, which are quite affordable for Hamburg standards. The hotel is situated at a four lane road in Altona. Altona is a nice district, easy to find a good dinner place if you don't mind walking for 20 minutes or so, and we'll connected to the inner city.
Drawback of the room was that the windows don't stop the road noise as well as they should. But we still had a good night."

"I chose this hotel because it is two minutes walk from Grosse Freiheit 36, a music venue. It's in the centre of the red light district, so expect - if you're a single man - to be repeatedly approached and grabbed for "business". It didn't bother me, but it might bother some, hence why I mention it.
The hotel itself is excellent. Comfortable rooms and excellent staff - no complaints there whatsoever."

"Great view of the water (if you get a water view), great repurposing of a warehouse, and the location is good too. Robotic parking garage is very modern. Airplane like bathroom and shower suction plumbing is loud. Use of keypad entry codes for rooms is needlessly complicated. Access to lobby and parking is cumbersome."

"The man at the reception desk (forgive me for not knowing his name) was very exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. The spa and pool was quiet. The location would be difficult to beat. All in all I would rate this as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed in an executive room, which I highly recommend as an executive lounge is available throughout the day to grab a coffee, cold drinks or nibbles. "
"Great stay at the Radisson in St Pauli, room had everything I needed, bar area was also ok for a beer waiting for mates which also offered free tea & coffee. St Paulis was a bit rundown but knew that before booked. The hotel did what I wanted it to and is also a short walk from the S bahn if you are getting the train in from the airport, which is also a bonus "
"Visited family and the location was good to connect with bus and S bahn . Easy access to city center and airport . It is so easy to navigate Hamburg with its trains and buses . Just a wonderful place to visit . The hotel serves a buffet breakfast which keeps you going well into the afternoon , Check in and check out are so easy . "
"The staff was so helpful and friendly and the atmosphere and vibe in the hotel fantastic.
The room was inviting, comfortable and quiet.
I was fortunate to have booked a room with a balcony. The view is interesting and being a smoker I was happy to go downstairs to get coffee and then sit on the balcony having a peaceful start of the day.
I highly recommend staying at the Superbude Altona.

"Make sure to contact the owner before you get there. Turns out they needed passport info before they can give passcode to get into the building, but I was traveling for a few days before with spotty internet, ended up sitting downstairs for almost an hour on the 1st day of my reservation going back and forth with management until they could verify everything and finally let me into the unit. Overall mostly my fault for not doing this in advance, but don’t make the same mistake I did. Make sure that 24 hours before you already have the code you need to get inside.
Great unit as advertised though. Bus was a block away, very convenient. "
