Stay was fine overall but what we don't get is why the staff ask multiple times if everything is okay (and then do exactly nothing about any of it). Hot water was out one morning and took all day for them to fix with no explanation.

Spectacular option in Harare
Highly recommended. The service is spectacular. The staff sincerely care and want you to be comfortable. There is a choice of restaurants and all are of high quality. There is a lovely view of Harare Gardens from most rooms I enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Sadly, the Monomatapa was a tired and altogether not pleasant experience. The reception staff behaved like they were doing you a favour the moment we walked in. The door staff and porters are lovely. Then we ordered a meal I. The restaurant which although expensive for what it was, was pleasant until the bill. I asked to charge it to my room as I had in the two other hotels I stayed at in Zimbabwe in this trip ....the. Waiter returned telling my me I had to settle the bill IN CASH and NOW! I felt like I had been caught stealing. The room had holes in the walls a dirty carpet and loose wires and broken trunking.

Nice hotel GREAT staff
The hotel staff members are her GREATEST asset. These guys are very helpful, cheerful, smiling and always asking how they can help you. Hotel itself is in reasonable physical shape for her age. Its clean with comfortable beds and good breakfast. Location is very central and close to shops and all. WiFi is SUPER. My overall experience was good and I'll definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay besides the fact that the housekeeping guy almost forced open my door when he was asking to clean the room, I actually had told him he can come later and he kept on trying to force open and I had to run to the door to stop him , I didn’t like it at all I mean that’s sooo unprofessional. And also at the reception when I got there , there was no one to check me in I guess people should just stay at their area of service. Besides all that , I had a great stay.

Reconsider, The most unpleasant hotel experience!
I’m not sure we’re to begin with this hotel. Firstly, I must say the staff are very hospitable and professional. The hotel chain takes great pride in developing great customer service and ensuring quality food is served. However, when arriving to the hotel I was in shock that the photos posted were not the true photos of the hotel. Upon walking into the room I felt as though the room hadn’t been updated since the early 1990’s. The furniture was very old, the carpet was extremely old. I then requested more information on why the room that posted online didn’t match what I was given. I was then informed that the room posted online is only a model room which consist of one room. The room was booked with a guest, meanwhile I would be moved to the room in the morning. The morning came and I was told the room was booked until Friday. Interesting enough the guest relations director came to me to apologize for the inconvenience and offered us an upgraded room, dinner, and beverages. The upgraded room was very old and the air didn’t work. We then requested a mobile air unit. The final day my husband was locked in the room due to a door jam. The maintaince had to break the door to get him out. We then was moved to another room. The final night we experienced coming back and our door being wide open and unlocked. We were told it was a mistake by housekeeping.

No hot water, Brown and soil smelling water.
The hotel staff is very welcoming and helpful, we’ll mannered and there to assist a step further in any matter. However there was no hot water on level 17, and the water was so brown in the two executive rooms the ladies didn’t shower. The view was great from the room though.

A nightmare not again!!
The place need a lot of improvement My room on the pictures look amazing but when I enter to my room was a very basic basic room. The sink in the bathroom was cracked the shower smelled of dump the toilet seat wasn’t fit properly and the safety box was out of order. I arranged a pick up and drop off to the airport and no one came or apologise at the hotel

The wall safe was not connected to the wall!! The restaurant service was very slow - 1 hour wait for a burger! Unfortunately the hotel overlooks a park where they hold all-night pop concerts over the weekends - impossible to sleep. It could be a nice place but needs a serious refurbishment.

Well placed, convenient and clean.
The hotel is located in central Harare. There is a scenic view of the Harare gardens below as well as some of the town area. The rooms at first feel a bit on the cold side but after a while you realise that is a lot hotter outside than you thought and the room temperature will allow you to sleep comfortably. Smoking indoors is still a thing here so make sure you request a non smoking room. The rooms are all facing the same direction so your view is dependent on how high you are but should ultimately be the same. The bathroom is well layed out with a big tub as well as a shower. The water pressure is good and the water is soft. There are enough towels along with nice extras like small sewing kit. The rooms I managed to sample were the twin and double twin. The latter being two twin rooms with connecting doors. There is enough space in the closet for two medium size suitcases.Also found in the closet is a safe, ironing board and iron. A kettle is also provided along with some good quality instant coffee, a variety of teas local and foreign including Roobios (redbush). The cold were clean and smelt fresh. Glasses were also provided along with bottled water. A fridge is also available and can be loaded up if required. Menu is V good for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet with ALOT of options. Tea and coffee are brought to you by under friendly and very curtious staff.
