"We are family of 4 and stayed in a family bedroom with sofa bed , once sofa was done we couldn’t pass it , couldn’t get to the bathroom , unless climbing over each other. It has all you need and it’s convenient, but it’s such a push , comfort is compromised. I know it’s only for a night before or after late / early flights , but we could even open our luggage as completely no floor space (definitely not good for families!)"

"The hotel is a mixed bag. The main building is grand and impressive, but mostly used for events and the bar. The rest of the hotel is tired in places. Our room was supposed to have air conditioning, but the "air conditioning unit" was only a fan with no capability to cool the air. Upon broaching the subject with reception staff I was asked to "just open a window" which was not the answer I was looking for. I requested a desk fan which they told me they'd look into providing. But never received one. It wasn't even a hot day, but the room was stifling. And strangely the radiators in the corridors were all set to full power. Our bedroom shower room had signs of mould on the ceiling and had a musty smell upon entering it. The hotel pool is a nice benefit, but again is in need of repair, the ceiling is damaged and the changing rooms are poorly presented. Breakfast was good quality and mostly well stocked, the staff were helpful when called upon. The grounds of the hotel are large and could be a real asset but unfortunately are also neglected. The best parts of the hotel are lovely. But the worst parts drag the rest of it down."

"The property is close to the airport and a train station. The restaurant and breakfast are very good and there are a few places to get food near by. I had some trouble with the cleaning staff cleaning my room properly, but the front desk was quick to solve the issues. Certain parts of the room need minor repairs (for instance, the seal around the glass shower wall had a leak). Overall I enjoyed my stay."

"Clean room but very dated. Light switch damaged on the wall and the bed was really uncomfortable. I reserved a compact room which was a really poor choice on my part, window was facing on to the high street with a ill fitting roller blind to give privacy. The floorboards creaked ridiculously and my neighbour sounded like he was getting his daily steps at 1am. Got up for a flight at 2.30am with only 2hrs sleep and really disgruntled. Will not stay here again."

"I am wary of doing chain hotels but chose to stay here due to the location and the fact it boasted a "fitness facility". The location was convenient as it was sited at a Welcome Break services. I was able to park close to the entrance. I was warmly greeted but on checking in found out that there was a separate £5 charge for overnight parking which was not disclosed at the outset of booking the accommodation. There were multiple dining options either within the services complex or at the hotel restaurant. I over-indulged but was happy to work it off in the gym area. This turned out to be a delusional expectation as the fitness room comprised of a few hand weights which did not go up to more than about 5kg. I usually do cardio on the treadmill but the one they had there was not working so my attempt to work off excess calories was a bust. In certain parts of the corridors there was an aroma which felt more synonymous with parts of Amsterdam. I usually rate my stays based on the triumvirate criteria of shower, sleep and breakfast. The first two were great and the breakfast buffet quite average. I personally believe that this stay did not represent good value for money with the tipping point being the "gym". I would not look to stay here again."
