"This was our third visit to the Fisherman's Cot and the first time for an overnight stay. There is a good selection of food at reasonable prices and very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite. We stayed in an annex which was OK but the outside fabric of the building is in need of renovation. Room was fine and clean, although bath panel was heavily water damaged. There is scope to improve decor (pictures on the wall for example) to give a more homely feel"

"Reception staff were friendly and helpful, so were the staff in the breakfast room and bar restaurant. The grounds were well kept, and the old Victorian building was beautiful inside. Of course being an old building it presented some problems, for example the old sash windows in our room were difficult to open - but staff were on hand to help. Amenities were good, although I would have liked some different tea options in the room, but you could ask for more at reception. The hotel was easy to access by car and parking was plentiful."

"I had a comfortable night - despite facing the main road the double glazing kept the noise out (although as the weather was dreadful there were fewer drunken parties roaming the streets compared with a typical Saturday night). I didn't have breakfast so can't comment. My room was recently decorated though other parts of the hotel (such as the carpet on the main stair) could do with some attention."
