The best area to stay in Gourbera is within the village centre or the immediate surrounding countryside for a blend of convenience and peacefulness.

The village centre of Gourbera is small and charming, offering a selection of guesthouses and holiday rentals. It's characterised by traditional Nouvelle architecture, with a few local shops and a church. This area provides easy access to local walking trails and the D824 road, which connects to larger towns.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in the countryside just outside Gourbera village is ideal. Here, you'll find beautifully restored farmhouses and spacious villas, often with private gardens and swimming pools.

The best time to visit Gourbera is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically May, June, September, and early October.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find it ideal for exploring the surrounding Landes forest and enjoying outdoor activities like cycling or walking. The local markets are also in full swing, offering fresh regional produce.

July and August are also popular, especially for families. While the weather is at its warmest, it's also peak season, meaning more visitors. However, Gourbera's natural setting still offers a sense of tranquillity compared to busier coastal resorts. Families will appreciate the opportunities for forest adventures and day trips to nearby lakes or the Atlantic coast.
