The building itself is gorgeous. An old school Aussie pub. However, for the rate charged the rooms were far from value for money. Advertised as “private bathrooms” however in reality it is two communal bathrooms on each floor, one male and one female. Not a deal breaker but I feel it should be advertised as such. Loud music playing in the bar area from around 9pm, though muffled upstairs in the room still quite discernible. Rooms have plenty of coffee, tea milk and sugar for the morning, but no kettle? When I inquired about checkout I was told to simply place my key on the main bar and pull the front door shut behind me as there would be no staff there in the morning. When I asked about who would return my security deposit in the morning I was told to call them in a couple of days so they could get my bank details and transfer it to me, despite paying by credit card? Theres definitely a market and clientele for this establishment, however at $127 a night I do expect a little more in the way of customer service.
