"Lovely, retro feel, close to campus and town. Wooded property, beautiful views out windows, private deck, wood burning fireplace. Saw an owl! Fishing very nearby but not exactly lakefront. Shower is excellent, kitchen has everything"

"Everything about this place was perfect for my family of 4 and our 2 year old black lab. Everything was very clean. Plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. The beds were comfortable. TVs in every room and great wifi. Would def stay here again!"

"Parking was horrendous/non-existent. Noise around the hotel was terrible. There is only one elevator in the center of the building so depending on where your room is and where you park, you might end up walking really far to your room and then back and forth to your car...nightmare. Upon entering the room, a foul odor. Dishwasher was rancid. That got better after we ran it. Garbage disposal didn't work and was full of rotten food. "

"A great little get away spot! Not too close and not too far from anything (town, stores, tourist attractions, hiking trails). Cozy little cabin that I would definitely like to rent again. Steve, the host, even has a snack basket and a cabin log that past guests have written their experience in! The only thing to keep in mind is that some of the cabins are dual cabins so you might end up sharing a wall with someone. I might have accidently streamed Star Trek to the other side's tv once or twice. Overall it was a great and relaxing experience. "

"We loved our stay… wish it could’ve been longer! Loved the outdoor atmosphere… Beautiful woodland area… an especially nice view while relaxing in the hot tub… ( our fav part)… the house was pristine and decorated to match the outdoors! We enjoyed some of Gods beautiful creations by traveling from the cabin to Garden of the Gods! Want to come back in the fall to enjoy the colors."

"The cabin was clean and very comfortable! The kitchen was well prepared with anything you could need to cook with. We enjoyed the grill and were happy to have it available. Steve was great with communication and so friendly! Perfect location for us with our daughter attending SIU. The snacks on the table were a neat added bonus. We will definitely stay again! "
