The beach is just a few minutes walk and would absolutely recommend this place if all you want to do is be on the beach. The biggest let down was the neighbourhood- it feels abandoned and derelict with many abandoned and boarded up buildings. There’s not much around at all. "Stayed here one night before early flight from Pisa. I wasn't expecting much, but was really happily surprised. The staff were lovely, friendly and smiling every time I had interaction with them. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a lovely view over the rooftops (yes, even the Tower in the distance). It was very quiet in the evening as my room was not facing the street.
