"My stay at Lumley Castle Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome — attentive, friendly, and always ready to go the extra mile without ever being intrusive. The room itself was beautifully presented, blending historic charm with modern comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable — the kind that makes it very hard to get up in the morning — and ensured a perfect night’s sleep after a long day. One standout detail was the shower: powerful, hot, and exactly what you want to relax and recharge. It’s a small thing, but it made a big difference. Overall, Lumley Castle delivers a unique and memorable experience. The combination of character, comfort, and outstanding service makes it a place I would happily return to and highly recommend, to the point we have booked to stay longer next year."

"Very attractive grounds and hotel facade. Internal amenities were reasonable. But restaurant was dire....both dinner and evening meal, disappointing after / before long drive. It photographed well on the website but I should have taken the time to look at the menu...clue would have been there."

"Very large room. Room 53 in a separate building from the main hotel building. Huge living area and 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Just a minute off the motorway. Tired fittings and fixtures. Dated bathroom. Sofa and chairs look newer though. Perfect for overnight stop which is what we used it for (very spacious for 3 adults). We arrived at half past midnight and reception was friendly, quick and helpful."
