Unique home on Catclaw Mountain with a pool and pet friendly

"I think this was a beautiful property! Everything was great EXCEPT: this is not meant for elderly or very small children. The rocky steps that are 360 degrees around the property are too hazardous for young and older. The rest of us were able to make it up and down the narrow spiral staircase indoors. My Aunt was unable to join the poolside fun but she enjoyed watching from the balcony! I would only rent again if I didn’t have the same party. I appreciate everything else on the property."

"We had an absolutely amazing stay! The place was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and had everything we could have asked for. The host, Donny, was truly wonderful—so kind, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a great experience. We were even offered a ride to the drop offs/ pick ups from floating the river by him. Perfect location right by Comanche Crossing. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back!! Highly recommend! Thanks again Mr. Donny!"
Adorable cabin STEPS away From the Crystal Clear Frio River - Terrace #3

"We enjoyed our stay at Frio River Cabins. The cabin was clean, Veronica was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the river was wonderful, the grounds were well maintained. There were a couple of things that could be improved, however, that kept me from giving it 5 stars; the air conditioning is not central cooling and so the room where the unit is located was comfortably cool, the other room was not so comfortable. The river access was ok but could be better. By that I mean, you cannot walk into the water, you have to climb down a ladder or jump into it from a high ledge. That’s ok for young people, not so great for older people like us. On the plus side, I really enjoyed all the birds. They keep numerous bird feeders out so if you’re a birder it’s a great place for birding. All in all, we had a great time and would stay there again."

"Cabin was clean and nicely kept. If you want coffee, there is a small Keurig but no K-cups; a couple bottled waters are provided to start you with. You need to bring more bottles and K-cups but it was not a deal breaker for us. Jack-n-Jill bathroom, TV’s in each room. Mini split A/C’s were nice for different cooler/warmer sleeping people. No washer/dryer but was also not a deal breaker. Kitchen is stocked otherwise as far as cooking utensils, pots/pans, silverware, etc. Property is at the end of a long road so it feels very remote and safe, very quiet - however it is a one car road so there will be times you may need to pull off.There is another cabin in close proximity (I believe another rental of the same company) but we didn’t really mind - we never heard the other people, even when they were outside. You do have a dedicated driveway to your cabin so you’re not encroaching on the other cabin and likewise them to you. I do believe there was some property work going on during our stay so there a was a little machinery noise but we were already up and moving around (around 10am) so we were not woken up by beeping. Front door window blind is missing but all other windows are covered. We used a towel and hair ties fastened to the plastic pieces where a blind was at one point.Communication with hose was very fast and clear. We do plan to make a river trip a yearly thing and will plan to stay at this cabin again (or the neighboring one) if dates match up."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was enjoyable at the cabin. You do have an access pass to the river, but parking is about a football fields walk and the spot is pretty crowded on the weekends. Everyone is very friendly though! The washing machine is on site, but has a bad smell- so I would bring enough clothes! Other than that the place was clean and the beds were comfy. Thanks for a fun stay at the Frio!"
