"We stayed at Mckays Quinta for only one night, as our flight from Miami was arriving late and we did not want to pay twice the cost in Quito. "This hotel is located in a very nice and modern area of Quito, close to many restaurants and shopping malls. The rooms are spacious with views of the mountains surrounding the city. Also, little hidden gem is the Epicur restaurant tied to the hotel, which offers really delicious food."

"Check in super easy, staff very nice. Room is nice and clean as well. (Minor things I don’t like personal preference :I don’t like rain showers cause I don’t like to get my very long hair wet and the head is so high you can’t adjust it. The doors are paper thin so you do hear what is going on in the corridor.) That being said I still would come back here again."

"The suites in this place are nice, good space. The staff top to bottom was great, except the older lady who works day shifts in the front desk. She might be the only person there who didn't like her job and she didn't seem to care. Just as long as you stay away from her, all else are good there."

"The property is decorated in a distinctive and home-y way, with many personal artifacts and a lot of character, in a "shabby chic" style. The proprietors are friendly without being pushy; happy to offer advice or assist with tour arrangements or transportation if you want, but not intrusive.
Downsides: our bathroom had issues; randomly no hot water, toilet couldn't be flushed with any toilet paper in it, and the shower was dated. You can't adjust the room temperature directly. Breakfast was pleasant but fairly minimal (e.g. my husband had to ask for butter/jam for his toast).
All in all, a pleasant stay with just a few annoyances. "
