• Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also restricted.

What to wear on a flight:

• Comfort should be your number one priority when deciding what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
• You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.

• Security personnel first need to verify that you have a valid passport and matching boarding pass before you're allowed to proceed any further. Have them ready for inspection.
