This is a wondeerful property. Couple of points - they do have live music on weekends which you will hear from your room => bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. It didn't bother us, but I see how it could bother some. Sunday is very quiet in Southern Pines - a lot of places are closed.
The Jefferson Inn was the perfect place to stay for a short business trip. It was located in a bustling business district, a short walk from my work, restaurants and shops. My room was unexpectedly upgraded, was roomy and comfortable, and provided many special touches (handwritten welcome note, clawfoot tub, robes, full sized bars of soap, premium bottled water, continental breakfast, etc.). I highly recommend The Jefferson Inn when staying in the lovely town of Southern Pines and hope to be back for business and pleasure.
We love the Jefferson! It's our go to place to stay whenever we're in town visiting family and friends. The owners and front desk attendants always make us feel like family when we walk through the front doors. The location couldn't be better- it's in the middle of everything.
This is our second year coming here for our anniversary. It’s a beautiful hotel with a warm feel. I really love the old creaky stairs! The people at the front desk are very friendly. We love that we can stay here and there are a lot of great places in walking distance. Shopping, dinner, breakfast.. We will be back next year.. Thank you
The staff was great and the location was ideal. The building itself was a historical building with original features inside which made the stay even better.
A very nice inn in a good location. I was disappointed that The Tavern was not open on Sundays and Mondays. It looks like a fun place also with outdoor bar and tables.
Overall, my experience at the Jefferson Inn was nothing special (not terrible, not amazing). However for $185 (plus tax) per night there is a certain level of quality, amenities and service that you expect. And although there are some redeeming aspects to the Jefferson Inn, unfortunately my experience as a whole left me a bit underwhelmed. Here are my pros and cons:
PROS:
- Welcoming and friendly staff. Everyone we spoke to was very nice and we were greeted with a hand written welcome letter in our room.
- Clean Room. Nothing seemed dirty, dingy, or suspect.
- Outdoor bar with live music (although there was no live music during my stay).
- Bathroom was spacious and had a nice shower with a double shower head. Bath robes were available.
- LOCATION! Probably the biggest redeeming factor to the Jefferson Inn. Located right in the middle (walking distance) of numerous restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options on Broad St.
CONS:
- Room was smaller than expected. Also, the TV was very small (maybe 28”).
- Although the pillows and duvet were very nice, the middle of the king bed was sagging and needed to be replaced.
- The Jefferson is marketed as an Inn and Restaurant. However according to the staff, the restaurant has been closed for a couple of years (even before COVID). No food is served, even at the bar. Perhaps a name change is in order.
- When I booked the reservation, it stated breakfast was included. However when I checked in I was informed they no longer offer the
