The cooking classes offered at the Chateau are a wonderful way to experience French cooking in the intimate company of a master chef (pictured here is Jean-Louis Vosgien). Each day you and few other guests help prepare a multi-course meal using fresh local ingredients (we even went to market one day to shop). After a few hours of instruction, prepping, cooking, and plating the meal comes together as lunch for the entire class right there in the kitchen. For us, the highlight of the two-day class was the asparagus risotto. We watched while Jean-Louis methodically reduced a two-pound pile of butter to a smear of grease as he mixed it into the rice. The result was the richest, creamiest risotto we've ever tried.

Lovely villa in a beautiful location
We are tennis fanatics so it was lovely to have a private court in good condition in the grounds. Played every day. Nice pool to cool off. Villa was spotless and spacious and all the appliances worked. Be aware that towels are not provided. Dealing with Vrbo was not easy. We needed to talk to them ...
