"Beautiful property, we traveled with family and our puppy who enjoyed running in the garden. Me and my partner stayed in the Exclusive Cabin with a queen bed, our only problem with it was the accesible open shower as it flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Room very clean, linen smelled great and there’s daily housekeeping. Having air conditioning was the greatest thing for the heatwave We went to the Brasserie for dinner. Absolutely delicious local wine, food unfortunately was very...

"Great location, good room. Old building could use a refresh (eg bars holding carpet down in the stairs were coming undone). Staff was good but inconstant in helpfulness/warmth (eg. We travelled with another party and I asked if we could have our tables next to one another at breakfast. she was a bit annoyed and reluctantly swapped the tables. I did not ask in advance, however we were the first guests and the breakfast room was completely empty.)"

Ibis Amboise

8/10 Good

"A basic hotel that was nice but not well located."

Les Sources de Cheverny

10/10 Excellent

"5 stars for Les Sources 0 stars for Hotels.com We booked a “Junior Suite” based on the Hotels.com description specifically stating the Junior Suites had a “separate sitting area” with photos showing a separated area with a small sofa and that looked perfect for us traveling with our four-year old so he’d have a bit of his own space for sleeping but still be close by to us. When we arrived and checked into our room, it was a beautiful room but a normal hotel room shape with no separation at all. My husband asked at the hotel showing them the booking description and they said no Junior Suites had separate areas and only full Suites did and they didn’t know why the Hotels.com site reflected an inaccurate and misleading booking option - they were incredibly kind and offered two connecting rooms but that wasn’t doable putting a toddler in a room by himself so we stayed with the room we had. I contacted Hotels.com customer service showing the misleading sale they’d made and asked them to update their post for accuracy and asked for a fair rate adjustment (not a refund as we kept a room). They would not update their inaccurate post and said they could not give a rate adjustment because of the hotel wouldn’t agree to it - my ask was to Hotels.com because they owned the false advertising not the hotel. In short - LOVED Les Sources and am extremely disappointed in Hotels.com after being a customer for years and can no longer trust any room offering of theirs."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Feings?

The best area to stay in Feings is directly within the village itself, or in the surrounding countryside for a tranquil escape.

Feings is a small, rural village in the Centre-Val de Loire region, known for its peaceful setting and proximity to the Loire Valley châteaux. The village centre is modest, with a church and a few local amenities. Accommodation here often consists of guesthouses or renovated farm stays, offering a genuine taste of French country life.

For couples seeking a quiet and romantic getaway, staying in a guesthouse just outside the main village offers excellent value. These properties often provide spacious rooms, gardens, and sometimes even a private pool, superb for relaxing after a day of exploring the châteaux. You'll find yourself surrounded by farmland and forests, ideal for leisurely strolls.

Families will also appreciate the space and calm of a country gîte or holiday home in the Feings area. These larger accommodations typically come with fully equipped kitchens, multiple bedrooms, and outdoor areas for children to play.

When is the best time to go to Feings?

The best time to visit Feings is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically from May to June and September to October.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Loire Valley. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular châteaux and attractions. The landscapes are particularly beautiful during these times, with blossoming flowers in spring and the changing colours of the vineyards in autumn.

For couples seeking a romantic getaway, late spring is especially appealing. The gardens of the châteaux are in full bloom, creating a picturesque backdrop for strolls and picnics. You'll find many opportunities for wine tasting at local vineyards, which are often less busy than in high summer.

Families travelling with children might prefer the early autumn. The weather is still mild enough for outdoor activities, and the harvest season brings a different kind of charm to the region.
