Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan

Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan

10/10 Excellent
"The word Tranquility was probably invented by places like this. The experience begins when you meet the inn keeper. When entering you're welcome into what felt like a noble men's house kept up to date. You get guided through to the living area with a live edge coffee table. Be sure to give yourself 40 mins for check in so inn keeper can give you a relaxing and interactive run down of how the Roykan is ran! The entire vibe of this place is to slow down, be in tune with what your body needs for rest, and what's left to do is just rest. We visited the Himeji Castle and wondered what it would've been like to live there. This Roykan answered that question. Surprise! Inn keeper stays onsite near the entrance, so it truly does feel like you're noblemen and things will be taken care for you. He is also very very friendly since is one party per stay, no other guests to distract him! There's daily housecleaning and reasonability priced drink menu right at your living area! Oh and the bathing area, is a self service spa essentially ✨. Highly recommend checking out the gift shop, the items are reasonably priced. I was very stressed and needed a vacation, and this place exceeded expections. It almost felt like it took the stressed out of my body and disspated into the air, purified perhaps? I would highly recommend visiting and making time to stay at the inn during indoor seasons. It was summer rain season and that just added to the tranquility atmosphere. I hope to revisit soon 💖."

"A nice “Ryokan” that is more of a hotel with trappings of a Ryokan. There are two Onsens that alternate between men and women (2F is bigger and better). Breakfast and dinner was good."

Dogo-Kan

Dogo-Kan

10/10 Excellent
"The rooms was very nice with charming details like the scented toilet paper. They also left sweets for us every day and every day they were different. The spa was good too with two temperatures: 39 and 42 degrees Celsius. We had the breakfast only one day, it was a Japanese breakfast (no western option) with fish, tofu, vegetables, soup, miso paste etc The staff was always extremely useful. The location is perfect: less than 10 mn walk to the Dogo Onsen and 2 mn to the shopping area! We would gladly come back"
