"We lucked out and received a bigger room than we had paid for. Well equipped apartment although the sofa's weren't very comfortable. Location is good ... across from the beach. The walk downtown takes about 20 minutes ... the road is narrow so you have to pay attention to the traffic as you walk. Pool was nice. Breakfasts were good. There is a ping pong table. Staff is friendly and helpful. Didn't use the spa. Nice big porch attached to the room but couldn't use it as much as we would have liked because of the mosquitos. Lots of friendly cats on the hotel grounds ... we adopted one for the week... a real sweet heart!"

Took 10 minutes to get hot water flowing 4 floors, no elevator Breakfast only - must go down into town for dinner"

"The room was very clean, the ocean was visible from our balcony, the staff was friendly and helpful, specially Adonis, he truly helped make our stay an excellent and enjoyable experience, by thinking ahead and providing an exceptional customer service! The beach was clean , the pool was great as well and the food was also delicious!! We had a great time."

"This is our second stay at Hacienda Cucuyo. It is such a hidden gem overlooking Samaná Bay. It has a limited occupancy which makes it perfect for a retreat style stay. It is quiet, comfortable, and very connected experience. Daniela is an absolutely terrific hostess! She welcomed us warmly and is the perfect host as is Victor and the rest of the staff. Our only complaint was the tiny ants that showed up in our luggage and bed on the first night do to our ground level apartment and the rain the previous day. Other than that our stay was epic. Our apartment had a skinny “single lane lap pool” with a view of the whole Samaná Bay Area. The breakfast was simple yet delicious. Be forewarned that the drive up isn’t for the faint of heart but the views the whole way are breathtaking. We can’t recommend this place highly enough and are looking forward to staying next year! "
